It looks to me that the very last bit of the bumper angles down, Is it the pictures?

Sorry to hijack, but for those concerned with max clearance and protection, there'll be a new bumper available in January from another mfgr.

I like it when I see more companies doing gx stuff

Hurry up and get here January!!!

If I sell my 4runner and buy a GX, I'll be designing and building my own bumpers. Most options are way too chunky for my liking. They look "tonka-ish" to me and kill clearance. I realize it's way better than stock clearance, but there's so much room for improvement.

Of course, A huge factor is what you use your vehicle for. Let's face it, a lot of us buy bumpers because they look cool. Not because we actually need them. I was guilty of this when I bought the ARB front bumper for my 4runner. It was great until I started running harder trails with guys with 35's and SAS's. The ARB was downright miserable to wheel with and actually caused damage to my vehicle because it would contact obstacles and then flex into the body.

I eventually gave up on it and designed my own. I can now drive up just about anything as long as I have traction!

Okay Little Joe it is January where is the new bumper option? At least give me a clue, PLEASE

4x4Labs. I took a flyer and emailed Luke the day after Christmas since I'm not enamored with current offerings, he said they're already working on it and he's promised pix any day now. He's also planning on doing a front bumper, sliders, and skids - he acknowledged the GX is gaining in popularity and sees the market opportunity.

I had a 4x4Labs bumper on my 80 and it was the best upgrade I did (since it was already triple-locked). Max clearance and protection. Yes it requires cutting out the rear crossmember (which will freak some people out), but the bumper adds a new crossmember and due to that is able to really be tucked up, whereas others have to work around/protrude past the crossmember. Neither I, the other locals who did 4x4Labs (we did a group buy and built them ourselves), nor anyone I know of has had an issue after cutting out the crossmember.

Luke advised if you look at the 4th gen 4R rear bumper he sells, you'll have a good idea of what the GX bumper will look like. The GX bumper will also be modular, allowing for different configurations. And if I understood him correctly, the GX front bumper will resemble the 80 series front he sells.

Thanks Little Joe, let the salivating begin. I have seen his products, and liked them.
