Scratch those questions in my last post.. Confirmed with trail gear that they will replace any broken part affiliated with the longfields. But if the stock diff splines strip out, that will obviously not be replaced since it isn't their product.

Mj, how did you deal with the passengers side perch? It is a pain in the %$^&%. I think that I am over thinking this way too much. The knuckles are throwing me off and setting the pinion angle before the C&T.

You are in the same boat that I was in.. Just take an hour and get to work on the grinding wheel. It is a pain to make that perch fit right.. You will also
Need to trim the u bolt hole on the perch in order to clear the differential. Like so:

Sorry for the crappy phone pic but you can see what I'm talking about.

Yeah, thought about trimming that before final welding. What was your pinion angel sitting at before you did your C&T? Seems like I read somewhere that it should be 14*. I tried to hook up my front drive shaft but it is gonna be too short by about 2"s. If I had a positive idea on what to set my pinion angle at, then I would feel comfortable on the rest of the fab. You get yours back together yet?

Any of those old 60's you got stored there have any solid gray dashes you would want to part with? Changing the color of my interior.

I cut a piece of pipe that fit perfect from the tcase flange to the diff flange and put a level on it and called it a day. And going to this weekend, I'm getting tired of taking the knuckles off..

My dad found a perfect one at a pick and pull that's grey, but he is calling dibs on it for his project.. I just run a dash cover and it looks good IMO.

We have a place called Pull-a-Part and never get any 60's. There has only been one 80 Series there in about twelve years or so. Its all good, I have a plan for my dash fix. On night shift right now so will have to wait till Wednesday next week to do work on the cruiser.

Ya we got really lucky on that find. And got some good seats out of the same cruiser! My dad going to use it all for his build. And right on! Let me know if you need me to take any measurements for you.

Finally have a reason to make an update. Installed my sliders today, they are heavy duty! Next on the list is too go to the tire shop and get them to switch out my rims for some wider ones that I have laying around. Finally ready for the LSLC roundup next week!

^^ Nice.. Looking good MJ. Have a blast, I wish I could go. DAMN THE MAN! J
Thank you sir. It should be a good time. That reminds me, I need to go register!

Where did you get your sliders, are they bolt on or weld on????

I got them off a wrecked cruiser we picked up a couple years ago. I am pretty sure that they are Man A Fre or 4+. They are bolt on with brackets that weld onto the frame, but I just welded the brackets and the sliders together so that I do not have to worry about them breaking. How's your build coming along?

sweet looks like we're gonna meet at round up (if I get that rear axle finished by then). Will be fun.
I hope so, are you getting close to having it done? I like the idea of having 4 disk brakes. Looking foreword to checking out your 4bt! I'm going to head up there Saturday morning and stay all day.

i'm close, just need to put the hardware back on and figure out the sway bar. Monday is the only day I can work on it, a buddy is getting married on wednesday and i have other commitments I can't back out of. I still need to weld up where the front leaf spring connects, it's cracked and could break on the trail. Either way I won't be wheeling hard, spent too much to get it where it is to go roll it.

You could get away without a rear swaybar temporarily. I'm not running front or rear which will be fixed soon, but it is tolerable. And I'm right there with you, I'm going to just sit back and watch others take on the hardcore stuff.

I have to much body roll as it is. Rather install everything at one and be done with it, especially since I have help.
I feel ya on the body roll, mines terrible.. I just keep putting off installing a front one. Still trying to source a 62 rear swaybar.
