Any one running these on their 6X? They don't "actually" have one for the Cruisers, but the 67 inchers for the 80's extra cab pick ups would be a perfect fit ( I just went out and measured ), and they are VERY reasonably priced. They come with the legs unattached, so you can custom fit them, which would work out well, because I would prefer not to weld them to the frame. My questions being, what do you guys think of bolt on sliders? I would make them with flanges to use u-bolts, and for those who may have them, they are .120" thick tubing. Are they strong enough for the weight of the cruisers, as opposed to the pickups? Keep in mind I don't do any hardcore rock crawling. Mostly trails, mudding, and hills. I just want them for those occasions where you come across rocks on the trails.

Somebody just posted this week, I can't find the thread. 67" I think they were...

The 67's are perfect. I'll search.

Nice. I measured and knew the 67's were a perfect fit. What do think of doing a bolt on install rather then weld, making flanges and using u-bolts?

67" fit like a glove, but if you still have the front mud flap they are about 1" to long. I just cut them with a sawsall and welded a freeze plug on to cap it again.

To me the best way install anything on the frame is to make it bolt through the frame by drilling and sleeving the frame. not u bolts

I'm way to lazy to do it like the above pics, and for what we do I think its over kill, but to each there own.

pic's taken from here http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=336050&pp=25

I do still have my flaps on, but have been thinking or taking them off anyway. As far as drilling and sleeving, it looks like a nice, strong install, but if I was going to do that, I might as well just weld the sliders directly to the frame. The thought of u-bolting them was to avoid welding on my frame.

So, are the bars that tie into the frame at a downward angle on those trucks that have the marlin/TG sliders? I bent a bar up for mine and even with an inch of body lift i had to notch out the bottom of the rocker to run the supports at a 90 degree angle to the frame.

nice looking rig hatman. the close up pics of the front are perfect to get an idea on how beefy these are.

mtbrider: I have been considering the same set up with the marlin sliders on a ubolt install. I talked with slee and can get the ubolts for around $50 and the steel plate should be real cheap to pick up. probably $30 for 1/4 thick by 3"

hit me up in a few weeks if you want to build a set.

Sounds good. I was going to have to get an assist with the welding anyway. I also have a buddy that works for Schwaby's that has some place here locally that makes u-bolts, supposedly for pretty cheap. You just give them your dimensions and they will make them up custom for you. But $50 ain't bad either.

yes they are at an angle, I also cut out the pinch weld to get the slider a .5" closer to the body.

Im doing mine as we speak...waiting for the paint to dry...
I angled the outrigger bars down and added a gusset.

BTW, if you have a 62 with the stock exhaust...it takes a bit of work to get around that crap on the drivers side!
I ended up needing a longer outrigger piece for the front one...
The frame angles in, and the ones supplied are too short!

Nice rig man! It looks like you went with a pretty steep angle.

Weak-link, I didn't realize you had a nice 60 besides the badass 40, looks good.

Here are some pics of mine, I figured this could be the dedicated picture thread now. I wish I
would have cut the pinch weld and went a little closer as well, meh.

I couldn't resit posting my pics too.

I did notch my pinch welds to get the fit nice and tight.
