Manual steering shaft seal? (2 Viewers)

Is there supposed to be a seal where the steering shaft comes out of the steering box?
This is on a manual box, from a '70 fj40. My searches have turned up nothing, but seems there should be something there.

Mine is a little earlier but I think we have the same column sans spline count.

No seal according to the parts catalog. It looks like the firewall dust boot provides the covering? I haven't pulled one yet so I'm just speculating here but that dust boot is on my list for replacement so I am also curious.

My 40 is a '67, but this box is out of a '70. I am swapping the frame mount and box into my 67. The firewall seal is only a dust seal for the interior, it does not seal the box at all.
