Looks a little bizarre. I would pass on it. Otherwise I can volunteer to keep it in my garage and "exercise it" regularly until you can get to the bottom of the story. Might be unsafe, you know?

definitely bizarre. total loss, but no salvage title. That's a pretty big asterisk for condition and resale.

Tell them I will trade straight up for 7 foxwing awnings and 2 RTT; all of non-descript origin, but top #1 excellence manufactured qualities.

Spoke to the prior owner who was involved in the crash. Bumper, tailgate, hatch, and some quarter panel damage "totaled" it in the ey of the insurer. He took $100 less than the total value in order to not have it branded as salvage. I guess the insurance company still reported it as a total loss.

Lots of pictures show this is in very good shape. Also got receipts from TLC for work done 50k miles ago doing a lot of mechanical refurbishing stuff.

So wire will be sent when the bank is open and my brother, two family friends and myself are flying out to Iowa next week to drive it back.

Bumper, tailgate, hatch and quarter panel damage doesn't happen without the frame being affected. I trust there's documentation of a frame repair?

Either way, will be sweet to see this in person!!

Mabel cleans up great for her Bring A Trailer glamour shots. But thanks to Chris for helping out here. Took some digital shots and film since it's such an awesome look.

The photos turned out great, good idea enlisting a pro.

I started the bid!! going to get that truck cheap.... One thing you can try, if you want to make the carpet look pristine, is Folex on the stains. They may come out and look like new

I appreciate the enthusiasm but will hope the rest of ONSC doesn't start bidding. I would hate for eBay to wonder why there is all this NC interest in the truck.

I'll pick up some of that Folex and try it out.

I think the fact that the truck is located in NC should quell all their concerns. IE: that's not out of the ordinary for local people to want to buy something that costs about a grand to ship. :)

I guess that is true. I have had my account closed once before because someone kept bidding on all my stuff and never win.

Yea...it stands to reason that once people started paying 50-70k for FJ40s, then it was only a matter of time before all 'vintage' Land Cruiser prices increased.

My buddy go the deal of the century 2 years ago with his perfect paint and interior, 5 speed swapped FJ62, with ARB front with winch, ARB roofrack, 4x4 labs rear bumper and sliders, all the wagongear storage, fully dynamated, OME lift with 33x10.5 BFGs, AC working....for 12K here in NC.

Won't ever see that happen again.

I think I know the truck you are speaking about

I'm sure deals exist everywhere. My deal with the missus is to break even and I can continue to play with classic cars. Lose too much money and back to modern vehicles for me. So come on top dollar!

You got the Ministry of Finance approval, thats huge. Buy low, sell high, like they do all day all over the world, then start a show on Velocity since Dealer Wheelers is going away without Ed China.

Keep at it, some day you can get a dealer license and import one of these for me.....

The missus tells you you gotta break even on the 62 or get out of the old car game so you go buy a 40 too? I like your style!

There is a wiley old man behind those glasses and beard :)
