Keep in mind as an engine accrues wear the crankcase ventilation system does more work, so it's reasonable to say a truck with 300k on it may need these parts more often than one with 80.

I did mine at 80k and it definitely had some life left in it. I'd say 100k is probably safe. But it's so cheap and easy that it doesn't hurt to knock it out early.
Thanks! I just did mine yesterday at 180K plus miles and the PCV still seems to be not too bad.

It's only a few dollars and takes about 10 minutes to replace. I replace mine on ANY vehicle every 50k miles. It's cheap maintenance, and if it gets stuck it can lead to oil leaks and oil burning. Not worth skimping and waiting longer for such an easy/cheap piece.

Thank you so much for this video. I actually watched your video before replacing mine...loved all your videos by the way.

Great vid

Thanks. Think I’m gonna do this this weekend

Super easy to do. And a common maintenance item that is missed.

Yup. I swapped mine out in literally 5 minutes 2 days ago

My foam (truck has 220k) was basically sawdust and crumbled as soon as I touched it

Crazy thing is, by how the foam was in there, I’m almost positive this was the original PCV with 220k on it and it was NOT clogged and still rattled. Crazyiness

Thanks for the helpful vid!

Replaced it today. $17 part from the dealer and about 10 mins. I did not remove the foam at all, not required.

Of course the old part was perfect and if you were blindfolded you could not tell which part was the new one by sound or feel. 145K 2014.

No to that.
My labor guide shows 1.8 hours. I'd probably charge 1.5 INCLUDING the diagnostic. If it's just a "customer says replace this part" situation without a diag, probably 1.0.

Literally takes just a few minutes. But if its a 1hr minimum that makes sense I guess.
