Yeah I suppose if you need them, but I don't find myself in places that I have to worry about my wheels getting stolen, I do however find myself in the middle of nowhere, where a lost key or failed lock could be a really bad thing. Just glad I discovered the lost key in the driveway. It will be all plain lug nuts for me. lol.
I am looking forward to your shock review. Do you know w if it is ADS who is manufacturing Slee's shocks?

Yes it is ADS their name is laser engraved on the nitrogen valve cap. I had to let the nitrogen out because I wasn't man enough to compress the shocks enough to get them in so I will have to run out and get them charged again. Great setup so far Slee hit the packaging spot on. Reservoirs fit perfectly on top of the spring tower.
ADS makes some quality stuff. That is some stiff ass compression they are set up for. Wonder how the rebound will be. Guess it has got to be stiff to control the sway of the heavy beast. Always good idea to check the gas pressure after installing anyway, so no big deal to have to let some out.

Yes they were very stiff it was all I could do to compress them with all my weight. I talked to Slee he said to start at 100psi for comfort and 150psi if you like a stiffer ride. I will have the shop put in 125psi and see how it feels.
Are they designed around the progressive heavy springs he carries? That is the spring i'm running and absolutely love it.

Well with the nitrogen you can set them up to match really what ever you like. The nitrogen range it 100-200psi so you could go really soft or really hard just depending on your preference. I am going to start at 125psi and hopefully it's close. 
I think at 200psi they would act like airbags providing considerable lift to tired springs.

s***ty wheel locks off, two sockets dead, but glad it is done. Thanks to Beno for shipping out new lug nuts. Finished up the Slee shock install.

not trying to preach to you, but that exhaust wrap, was the death of my exhaust.
If you drive around where they salt the roads (now i'm thinking you moved away from that crap) and you drive the 80 in it, it will soak into the heat wrap and just eat away at your exhaust.
I took all mine off to save what was left of my exhaust.

Yeah I wasn't too worried about it when I thought the exhaust was heavy walled stainless but now I see it showing quite a bit of rust so I am probably going to be replacing it anyways. I will take it off and send it in and have it done in 316 or 321 stainless.

Small world!!
So I put the new water pump in and buttoned everything up. Took the truck out for a quick spin, pulled over just on the north side of Moab and popped the hood. Just going over water lines, silicon couplers, etc.
Up pulls a truck pulling a sweet military green 73 series. Guy driving leans over to make sure I wasn't broke down. Turns out it was Greg Miller, he had just bought the 73 in Florida and was driving it back to the Heritage Museum in SLC. Very cool guy. I am going to have to take a detour to go check out the museum.

Oh and back to the tech since this is 80's tech.
I have a very serious problem with Slee's shocks.
The problem is they make the front end feel 5 times better than the OME's in the rear and I want rears but I am broke. Lol
The front end now feels very controlled. Going over expansion joints the front end now doesn't feel like a sharp jolt and a stutter, it is a thump and roll. The rear still has the jolt. I am at the stock valving Slee sends out and 125psi of nitrogen. Front end is OME heavies, Slee short bus, Warn 9500 with synthetic line, 6 gallons of water and turbo stuff. With a range of 100-200psi I am sure the lightweight and heavyweight trucks could be accommodated.

Yesterday took a fun little cruise up around Johnson's Up on Top lookout over Moab, had a blast romping on it and rolling up the banked corners in the sand and then a few rocky sections. 80 did great as always, such a capable machine. No airing down, no disconnecting sway bars, no fuss just have fun and then when you are done jump back on the hwy. I wanted to try and get a video in the sand it is so cool to hear the turbo and haul ass in the flowing stuff, I will see if I can rig something up or get a passenger. lol.

Well this didn't work at all and it is a completely different spot from yesterday but I still had fun. haha.
This is a creek bottom section of trail and only about 1/6th of it since I can not hold the camera and drive with one hand and try and go any resemblance of quick.
Any of the clanking noise is from the old shocks, a shovel, an ax and 2 smart syphons in the cargo area the truck is actually pretty smooth.

OK. Now I HAVE to do the turbo...... I've always liked the sound of the turbo spooling up, but that is just kick ass! Maybe I'll skip doing the seats, and the lift, and oil changes, and front bumper and..........
