Kind of a teaser
Got some lights in today and wanted to try out mounting them in the grill. These photos are terrible because my iphone is a wreck.

The LED's are much brighter than my upgraded high beams. I was out last night playing with them to get the height adjusted right and I think I am probably getting 350-400 feet? Just a rough estimate.
Really tough to tell considering the places I went had a lot of surrounding light. If it was really dark I think you would see these lights really shine, no pun intended.

No projector and HID upgrade, I just did the Slee wiring harness and the Xeonon H4 big bulbs, because there is no one making the projector lamps for the Lexus, and it is enough of a difference I don't want to stuff Land Cruiser lights in and have the grill stick out. I know that you can swap the grill as well, but the Land Cruiser grill doesn't have the same horizontal ribs that I reinforced with aluminum to mount the Rigid LED's to. I still might try and work through something in the future but for now these are plenty bright
Did they offer heated seats in your Lexus for that yr?

Nope no heated seats. They are just like the Land Cruiser seats just covered a little differently. All the leather is perfect except for the driver's seat. I would like to do Atlas's covers but hard to swallow since only one seat is bad.
My seats are good considering they 15 yrs old. I want to put the lx470 seats in.

Yeah the LX470 seats are nice, but I think Atlas uses better leather than Toyota/Lexus does. I don't need the arm rest since I went to a Tuffy console and it has a higher arm rest. I would also look at GX470/460 seats I think they would be an easier fit than the LX470 seats.

Ok well I am convinced I have an under performing radiator, that is due to the previous owner mixing red and green coolants and it turning into sludge. I have flushed it twice with the aftermarket flushes, and I took it to a shop that tried to evacuate the system by sucking it out through the radiator fill nozzle, and they could only get 1.5 gallons out of the system. So what is my next step? I have emailed Ron Davis about a new radiator, I will pay double to buy direct from them rather than having to buy it from Man-a-fre. Also a local shop is a Koyorad dealer so I will call them tomorrow.
I haven't really looked yet, but it looks like to pull the radiator you need to pull the clutch fan, fan and shroud. Probably the front grill? which means I will need to pull the bumper. Empty the A/C of freon and disconnect the condenser, probably put a new condenser in too while I am at it. s*** sounds like it is going to be a big job.
I keep waiting to be all caught up on maintenance, but it seems like it is always something, I am waiting for the headgasket to go at any time.

Need to pull the fan and shroud, batteries boxes and grill/headlights. No need to touch the A/C system.
I replaced mine after finding it was 80% plugged up and causing the thing to run hot after a head gasket job.
Do what I did and change the head gasket as PM if you a worried about it. When I got mine apart I found it was almost ready to go on #6 and was leaking outside a bit at the back.

I have to pull the bumper since I cut the grill for the winch and it covers the lower grill bolts, if the bumper, and grill are off, I will probably do the A/C condenser and drier at the same time, it has some bent over fins from someone with a high pressure washer maybe?

Did you do the Headgasket as a DIY or did you take it to someone? I am not convinced that I am capable or that I want to do it in my garage. Nor am I sure I have a capable shop here in San Antonio. How long did it take you to do the work?

Well I heard back from Ron Davis and it was a little rough.
Ron Davis full aluminum - $950 + shipping
Man-A-Fre full aluminum (not made by RD, maybe BeCool?) $840 + shipping
Koyorad aluminum with plastic tanks - $330 locally
I haven't checked OEM prices I guess I should. My concern is if there is enough gunk in to plug up a radiator, getting it out of the block and heater cores so that it doesn't just plug up the new radiator. I do plan on doing a full system flush, by tapping into the upper heater hose. Are there drains in the block?
