I think you are definitely right 50,000cst is way to heavy to use straight. I only added 4ml of 50,000 cst to the OEM fluid which everyone is saying is about 30ml of 3,000cst. So the mix should put the total of 34ml at around 8,500cst stiffer than OEM blue clutch but still considerably under what a lot of people are using.

Thanks I really like how the truck looks and like everyone says it is amazing how the 80 just swallows up tires. I had the spare standing up in my garage when my friend came to help do the 4x4labs bumper and he laughed at me, asking if I got the wrong tire. I was like what do you mean?? He said there is no way that is the same size as what is one my truck, I had to roll it over to the 80 to prove it. Ha

I didnt catch that you mixed the weights. That should work nice this summer. Ill thin mine out at some point.

The tire shop looked at me funny when I pulled in with the 35s to be mounted. The shop guys didnt think it would fit until they mounted one and saw it fit perfect. This was after the first place I went to refused to mount them claiming they were too big for the wheel/truck.

When having the sides line-x'd, how did they cover the flare/trim holes? Did they just spray it until it covers the hole or put some kind of tape behind it. I want to pull mine and line-x it also, but unsure what to do with the exposed holes in the meantime.

I chose to use polished anodized aluminum on the outside piece that would be seen by anyone looking at the truck since it would match the polished clear coated LX wheels, and the inside rails and slats are raw unfinished aluminum to save a little on cost.

If you are spraying you really need to do something with the holes besides tape them. The pressure from the spray will cause the tape to valley and you will have holes. What I did was tape them from the inside and use a small bit of filler, sanded flat. If you are going to roll it with Al's or something similar this isn't a problem and you can use the metal tape on the holes.

Thanks Jeremy it is definitely getting closer!! I need to do something with the spare tire inside. I have some ideas for using the third row, seat brackets, grab handle, and/or seatbelt mounting holes, I just haven't made up my mind yet. I am also waiting on 4x4Labs cargo carrier and I will probably build (well I will rope my dad into building) a rear drawer just a little shorter than the second row folded down, but that too is undecided. I kind of hate when a project is coming to an end!

Yeah I have my spare ratchet strapped to my Hanna interior carrier at the moment. I plan to mount it to the rear bumper once I get that fabbed up. Once that is done I will have drawer much the same as you are talking on the pass side. will leave just enough room between it and the Hanna rack on the drivers for my ARB fridge to fit on a slide. When the fridge is not in use I will have a clip in deck to make it flat for sleeping.

Its awesome watching your build its like mine in fast forward.

Picked up my roof rack from Travis Clifton of Houston Aluminum Welding It is exactly what I wanted. Very light under 45lbs, the Gamiviti mounts weighed almost as much as the rack and plenty strong. I am working with Travis on some wind noise, I have a couple of ideas and so does he so I am sure that will work itself out, but I am very happy with the rack and the craftsmanship is awesome!

Just kind of goofing off tonight I loaded up the rack with 580lbs of olympic bumper plates, three 5 gallon Jerry cans of water, a 55lb kettlebell and a 72lb kettlebell. (no that's not what I take camping but easy to load and test). So just over 820lbs and no deflection, no sag, no real movement at all, very impressed.

wind noise really bothered me also so i made a temporary fairing out of some plexi glass and conduit clamps. need to get over to Travis' and weld on some tabs so i can mount a more permanent fairing

Ok here is a picture of the rack loaded with roughly 700lbs, not bad for a 45lb rack! I didn't do the kettlebells because it was getting dark and because I am turning into a wuss. My neighbor walked by while I was loading the rack and he was like didn't you just do that yesterday.... He shook his head and said you have too much energy.

That is a great idea, the wind noise doesn't actually bother me too much. I think I am going to try a couple solutions I found on line, one was a small "wing" that you fit over the front bar. If I reach through the sunroof and just put my hand behind the bar any whistling/vibration noise stops. Also moving the rack back about 3" helped out a lot.

We had horrible vibration/resonance/whistle on our 4dr JK with a roof rack. I did a rope wrap with 3/8 black poly on the front bar. The bumpy surface broke up the airflow enough that it completely eliminated the noise and vibration, just a little wind noise now.

I heard of people doing a bungee cord wrap too. I will play around with it. Its not too bad now, but I think will a little experimenting it will be even better. I Have some rope and will give it a shot.
