So at the end of this swap having slight issues with 80 series master cylinder witch is 19mm bore size and gm internal slave is .781 bore size. First off the spring assist was way to much so I removed that next issue is push in the clutch put in gear let off the clutch a little and it engages seems to soon for me. I have ran across a thread on here about another toyota master that is 1 inch bore different bolt pattern but I can fab a firewall adapter if need be. Just wondering if anyone else has came across this. I will probably post a thread on the 60 section because ls swap with using is more common in them but most run an external slave cylinder that matches the 60 master cylinder.
Thanks for any information.
Oh and couple pictures because ya know we all love those.

@tmxmotorsports on my 62 I shimmed the internal slave 1/4" and that made a world of difference. was drivable before ( I put 6K miles on it before I shimmed it) but it was very similar to what you described. Works great now. No idea if its a terrible idea or not but it has 1500 miles on it so far. I have a CAD file for the shim

another 1k miles later and this ended up failing on my and a friends truck with similar mileage on the same setup in the same way. We went to bigger MC bore.

What oil pan is that?

If your trying to figure out why it looks different in an 80 the engine is almost 5 inches back further than it would be in an 80 due to the nv4500 fire wall and transmission tunnel have been heavily modified. This is a swap I suggest no one ever try to duplicate it fits but you have to make it fit was fun tho.

Is there anything preventing you from adapting the gm clutch master?
Lol I mean not really at this point . Shiming it sounds easy but really don't think that's the problem. All the clutch parts/ bellhousing slave are all gm only thing that isn't is the master cylinder.

This is supposed to be 1 inch bore witch is than the slave bore size could adapt it to the firewall. Haven't looked into the gm master the setup is so close to work tho just a touch off.

did you move the transfercase forward ? or did you pount he firewal on pass.side ?

If this is a client's rig, you should start the reveal on the rack. That work on the underside is a real thing of beauty.

Thank you very much just finishing up the ss exhaust system. Now on to the rear bumper from 4x4 labs bumper luckily I didn't build it out already had to modify it for tye exhaust tail pipe no provision for that from them.

I ended up going from the stock 3/4” bore MC (I think 80 is the same) to 7/8” bore on my friend’s 60 and works great now. Shimming the internal slave ended up being a big problem after about 2500 miles, failure repeated twice independently.

What Mc is 7/8 bore?

Wilwood. I machined an adapter (for 60 series). It might work on 80 too - see if the 85-87 60 clutch masterand 80 have the same bolt pattern.
