Anyone know a Los Angeles Outiftter that stocks Metal Tech?

I want the OPOR GX470 sliders Metal Tech has, but don't wanna pay $200 in shipping!

Also wouldn't mind having someone install them for me since it seems like a special tool is required and even then it seems like a two person job.

Any ideas?

Don't think anyone carries them here in LA. Not even sure if you can order them from anywhere but metaltech themselves.

I'm interested in the sliders too and in LA. Wonder if we can combine some armor on a pallet to help with shipping cost. I have a place that would except freight.

Just looking on their site, for 1 slider to LA is $172, for 2 sliders to LA it is $226 for shipping.

I'm assuming if we find additional folks that are interested in sliders/bumpers can get the shipping price down even further. And can possibly ask MetalTech for some kind of discount (just a thought).

How serious are you @mstrsltr and where are you in LA?

Heck, I imagine a hypothetical relay system to distribute a bunch of sliders. Say there are 5 orders, a GX owner from Grants Pass drives up to Portland to them up, keeps one; a GX owner from Sacramento picks the rest up, keeps one; a Bay Area GX owner....... You get the idea.

If somebody will organize this, I'll participate. :-)

This is good idea but seems like a lot of work and harder to coordinate and to deal with...

I'm ready to buy today. It's just that shipping... it's 50% of the actual cost of the sliders!

I thought about seeing if there was any group buy interest as well.

Anyone else in the SoCal region interested?

But at the very least, teejnut, your idea of shipping our sliders together to a place that receives freight would hopefully save us some money.

Let me ping MetalTech to see about saving on shipping with multiple orders and also to see if we can get any group buy discount depending on the amount of items we order.

My sliders didn't come on a pallet but I got them raw. Just handed to me by the UPS guy.
Get them raw and I believe the shipping is much cheaper and then paint them yourself or get a shop to paint them however you want for $150.

How much did you pay for shipping?

Nobody in LA (or anywhere in the US that I could find) stocks Metal Tech sliders, since I believe they are made to order. Maybe I am wrong, but I contacted MT 6 or 8 weeks ago about a set for my LC100 I was told they have ZERO on hand and they were being made to order. Wait would be at least 3 weeks. Which kinda made me want them more! Ultimately I found Trail Tailor and picked up them from Green River Wyoming.

$135 down to San Diego including the Spring conversion kit with the sliders.

Odd that their online shopping cart quotes $172 for sliders down to LA.

Either way if we can get a few orders together I'm sure it'll be cheaper, will see what MT says.

Just order more stuff.

I saved up to big bang a build phase. If you bundle an order you can talk them into free shipping.

If you selected a finish on your sliders then shipping will cost more if you get them raw then there is no pallet or protective wrapping.

Just selected raw and see $172 for shipping quoted on their site.
