Howdy.
Welp...
I took an auto body class near my house to get all the details needed to get this job started, They had a nice parts list and at the first class the instructor went to each persons vehicle and thought about what we needed and we would mark it down and purchase it, Each week we would take our vehicle to the class and work on it, There is only one class left and I wanted to paint it there due to the paint booth, Need less to saty there were other people ahead of me due to CM and my sons birthday, So, Last night I almost pulled an all nighter sanding and filling minor dents, On my rear fenders I had some metal welded in the front of the wheel opening when I moved the axle towards the back, They needed a lot of attention as did my hood which in its previous life the hood must have been open when someone moved it into the garage or it flew open on the road

So, To fill the heavier areas that I couldnt hammer out, I used Marglass/Bondo short strand glass filler which was a total PITA! after sanding it and re applying Marglass, Once this is satisfactory you can move onto the regular Bondo filler to smooth it out.
It was suggested to use a flat board sander with 40grit sandpaper to smooth it out, I found Harbor Freight had a pneumatic sander for $30.00 and I went to town, I sanded and filled last night for almost 7 hours.
Today I finished up a little bit more filling and sanding, Then the process of masking, It would be totally easier to use the standard paint paper where I had a roll of heavy packaging paper and painters tape.
I masked it, Started mixing the primer which is a high build two part epoxy primer from 5 star, Depending on how you mix it it can be a high build, regular build, or an epoxy sealer, I sprayed it with a $20.00 paint sprayer I bought from Checker Auto, No HVLP for me

And here I am about to head out to paint it with a single stage mating blue paint, I went with single stage because I felt it will be easier to repair if needed, But who knows...Oh and it cost a bit less as well.
Hope that helps.
