I may be looking at a 1974 model soon. Just noticed a few things that I wanted to get clarified.
-The color appears to be Capri Blue. I cannot find where this was a factory color that year.
-The ignition is steering column mounted....does that mean California model?
-The turn signals are not on the fender, but are under the headlights. The fender is smooth so if there was a hold...it's been filled. Does this mean that someone moved them?

Thanks!

My 74 was originally capri blue (or if not it was whatever the similar color offered that year was, to me it looks like capri).

Ignition should be on the column.

Turn signals should be on the fenders so yes someone has filled the holes and installed the older bib lights.

You have a mix match 40?

Based on the sellers description of the truck. I’m going to make a call to him soon, so I’m compiling a list of questions. I remember reading somewhere I can check the frame and maybe another plate somewhere else where I can verify the year made?

Right front outside of frame is a stamping. Rivets plates found firewall passenger side, drivers side A-pillar.

I’d recommend posting photos here. It’s amazing what some guys can spot.

Now those are some bumper tits!

From those pics, outside looks to have been repainted (aftermarket bib lights and no fender signals help confirm this). Check the weatherstripping for signs of a mask and spray job (pretty sure you can see it on the rubber seal between upper hatch and hardtop). Also check it very well for bondo potentially covering rust or poor repairs, though the spray job looks old enough the flaws should be poking through by now (example: zoom in on back driver side lower corner).

Post lots of pics. Don't be afraid to take a ton of pics and post up here for feedback before buying. Better than posting them after buying and finding out bad stuff. Not that the bad always negates the purchase.

That's not a bad looking rig to start from. The fenders are original as evidenced by the known rust area, the lights can be replaced as can the windshield hold downs, and the interior looks really decent (complete with what looks like a vintage radio--I bet it plays ABBA and John Denver clear as a bell!) If the price is right for you that's not a bad rig.

That information is awesome. Thank you! I will post more when I go look at it. I wish it had the 2F, but ignorance is bliss...right?

What price range do you think it should be in? Seller shows 3500 miles, but not sure if that means 103,500 or 203,500.

If I were in the market and going to look at that one, based on pics, I wouldn’t be more than $8000-10,000, so long as it runs and drives and not much rust. Wouldn’t even have to run and drive great but at least start, idle and stumble through the gears and come to a stop. The hardest parts to overcome on these are rust and missing parts. Both of those add to the cost waaaaaay more than most people think.

The Late F engine is a good engine, some people say they are the longest lasting of the F series. Smaller displacement, improved oiling, deeper head bolts etc.
