To my own disbelief this past week my wonderful fiance Mary Ellyn gave in and finally turned a wrench on one of my cruisers.......... she helped me install a new 2.5" OME suspension on the 40 and she says she actually enjoyed it

and to top it all off she says she wants to start wheeling her 80

so anyways here are the pics; I just wanted to brag on her a little bit :grinpimp:

woohoo!

When she starts wheeling her 80 let me know. I will be there!

More 80s! More 80s!

Oh, and I know how to spot those 80s pretty well, so I can keep it pretty for her :)

The part with the woman in your life wrenching is just a pipe dream I refuse to admit or recognize in others (read: jealous)

I should have specified "wheeling" consists of Cullowhee :D........ and maybe just maybe 4,5,6, at Tellico

hey but it is a start right..............

since we are on the subject of 80's here who has the best deal on sliders, I hope I can just find some do it yourself kits. Got any good suggestions Dan?

hehe........ at one point when Chuck and Richard were trying to prove who had more testostorone.... she came over with a puzzled look on her face and said "I thought they were friends" :grinpimp:

My wife would have helped on the Pig Saturday if the Mafia hadn't scared her off! :grinpimp:

80 sliders are crazy right now, lots on the market.

For a stock cat setup I would say Slee or Hanna for sure, they both have great designs. Lance at Ironpig has some nice ones as well.

If you go home brew I would recommend going to a different cat setup (cheap) and putting in straight outriggers. I put in an OBDII compliant cat for less than $200 and it works great.

my bezel is locked in in a closet at home and will stay there until I find the right size tamper proof bolts :flipoff2:............ I am paranoid as hell about loosing that thing

Looking good. Glad to see she is getting the bug.

Also you need to flip your Bezel:flipoff2:

cool dan thanks for the info

She told/asked me about that. I told her the Mafia are all friends - just have more drama than a soap opera. :grinpimp::grinpimp::grinpimp: I was trying to joke with her but she gave me that confused look too! I think the across the street attention weirded her out a bit!!! Heh heh heh... :grinpimp:

I know where you live, Denali and I have a plan.:flipoff2:

Good stuff JP! You have a good girl there!!

Your 40 is coming along nicely. Very purty axles, suspension, wheels and tires!

And, you get to start modding the 80!!

As far as sliders go, like someone else mentioned, Slee and Hanna are high quality but have a big $ price tag too. At the time I went with Hanna because of the improved cat protection.

Check with Alex (concretejungle) on his sliders. He copied George's design and did them himself IIRC. EDIT: He did and here is the thread:

Also, 2Badfjs is making them as Solid Rock Off-Road (vendor section). Don't know anything about them and haven't seem but they have gotten a very positive response in the 80 section. I think I saw something about less than $500 + shipping at one point.

i saw it first hand wednesday... i stopped by to see the progress on the 40 and she was scraping the axles clean while jp and i talked cruisers....

yes she is a good woman........... she actually took pleasure in cleaning the axles and I am glad I don't have the attention span for the tideous stuff like that :grinpimp:

Cool Jp.....what was she doing with her shoes on? does she not know the proper JP way of wrenching....

My sliders are a Georges design...you are welcome to copy them....they seem to be holding up rather well... Mary Ellen is also welcome to try my 80 out at Cullowhee
