well I have hit a level in my wheelin that I have to see were I want to go. 2 weeks ago I poped a stock birf today I killed 2 new fields both times I was backin to get a better line .. I'm not a heavy foot kinda wheeler and thought I would be ok with em ..I was wrong .. my options now is to start over again with D44 14bolt or get cromo 30 slpine longs:laughing: do these hold up to wheels turned backin or will I have to still keep my eyes on them ??:

ya alot but... i can get cromos for D44 and be ready for a 60 what I find one. I just dont want to get the longs and still be popin birfs. I wanted real world feed back to make the cost seem like good idea. I really want to keep it Toy but I dont want to toss more money out the window either ... what do you run ??

I know it is for the 80 series but I know that Bobby makes his products good. The 30 spline long breaks at the same amount of tourque as the D60 35spline but the difference is that he has about 20 more degrees of twist

I've been running longs in mine. Had'm in there since my axles were under the Drunken Monkey. So that will tell you how tough they are. I have a CM for an extra. IMHO, go with the chome mollies. Save you time, $$$, and blood. Just about everyone I have talked to when building my rig says chome birfs and inners axles are the way to go until you get into big HP and/or tires over 40".

You popped 2 of the "new" newfields, that are 4340 cromoly? 30's aren't THAT much of an upgrade IMO... Time for bigger axles, though that raises a question. Are your steering stops adjusted correctly as not to bind the birfs?

A D44 is no upgrade at all.

no they are a few years old not cromo.... stops are stock I've read all the stuff out there on them and seen the tests I just wanted to here what those who use and abuse them think... I know its what I want to do I really like bein Toyota axled but I also what to wheel more than one trip with out wrenchin

i have the 30's in my rig and have been beating on them for 3 years now with NO prob.
i run 37'' irocks with H1 wheels and 3 tcases,would not have any other axles, i have tryed to kill them with no luck (they have a life time war.) D44 is a down grade from bobby's 30 spline
the 30 spline runs with the D60

I have a 27 spline set in my cruiser .. but a buddy have a 30 spline set with V8 350, H55F, stock split case, 4.88 and boggers 37" pretty heavy right foot with NO problems yet ..

They are beat badly....even Bobby commented on how brutalized they were when he converted them from 27-to-30 spline stars...

zero breakage....none...I'm WAY impressed....and have a D60 available that I am not bothering to drop in....

oh yeah, my front housing is bent...badly...like, the EZ-Lock had wallered out the side of the center section into a nice oval, to the point that it would no longer lockup....bad....

the Longs have held....

42 iroks, 350sbc and a heavy right foot. I break rear shafts and pinions, nothing in the front in a couple of years. they are definatly worth the money

my stock went first by about 2 mins wish I had know before I bought them but I got a great deal ... or so I thought thanks for the great real world info guy hope this info will help the nexted guy askin this, now to sell some parts to buyem

Old ones, yes, new ones are the same as Bobby's 27 spline ones, and if you've still got a warranty from CVU, it's worth running them IMO.
