Contacted Al and got in on the presale!

Do any of you have advice on what to do for a fuel pickup? I have a 50G tank similar to the MAF design but the pickup is basically a metal tube and too short.

I asked Al (MAF) that very question. The 60 version is built to accommodate a fuel injection engine conversion.

Gentlemen,

I have been in touch with Paul from Long Range Automotive in Australia and got this info for my FJ80:

" Carlos,
Unfortunatley I don’t have any pictures of the 90ltr version but please find pictures attached of the 160ltr version.

For your reference the 90ltr tank is approximately 10cm higher than the 160ltr.

This tank is an auxiliary so it fits behind the rear axle and operates as a transfer system whereby fuel is pumped from the auxiliary tank to the main tank via an electric pump. Everything required is included in the kit".

$1300.00 AUD Part number TLC80RAX

$390.00 AUD sea freight to Los Angeles sea freight Depot. Sailing time is 23 days.

Best regards,

That's a similar price to the LRA 60 tank which is why Man-a-fre started building them here. He was the original LRA distributor in the US. When the pre war exchange rate was 44 cents to their dollar these tanks were a bargain. I bought an LRA for right at 700.00 and two air lockers for 595.00 each in 2001. Kinda glad I didn't procrastinate on building the 60. I'm still transferring my air lockers from build to build .
My first pair that i stuck in my 55 were 440.00 each in '97. I happened on an original Roberts air locker about 8 years ago and picked that up for about 200.00. It was made in the 80's and is now in the front of one of my 60's.

Anyone know what gauge steel this (Man-e-fre) tank is made of?

Carlos, did you get a quote on the fj60 LRT by chance? thx

Talked to Al. Tanks are in! Picking mine up next week!
