Looking forward to it! See you next week

OH! The other reason to do it now:
Raffle tickets are ONLY available online before the event.

A cash 50/50 will be the only on-site way to further contribute money to the club.

Change of plans. I am registered. Arriving Saturday morning though with a +1. See you there- @forrest5000

Is a CB radio a requirement to ride? If so, I may have to skip this one... Don't have time to get that installed this week.

No

We prefer everyone have some form of communication, the small handheld walkie-talkies are what most people use.

Some people in the group are on ham radio, but use the GMRS/FRS frequencies since they are fine for contact within a small group.

You don’t have to have one, but we prefer you do.

There are many available, most of which will also do ham radio, but of course you will need to get your license to legally operate the radio in that frequency range.

The club has a few hand held CBs that are for sale. I think they’re $40. But don’t count on that.
As stated. The little 2 pack of uniden or whatever. Good enough for reaching the truck 200 feet ahead of you :)

Something like this work? I know it's chinesium but I can have it tomorrow and for $29 it would appear to be capable of the task at hand.

@Jeff Elliott the radio will have to be programmed either by hand at the event for the channel being used or using a computer with CHIRP and a programming cable.

Yes @Jeff Elliott that is what many people have. Look up and print out the chart that lists the actual freq’s for FRS channels because that’s what you’ll use to tune in. It’s easy, but you’ll need the chart for reference when somebody wants to switch FRS channels on the trail for some reason.

Battery should last about 2-3 days if you’re mostly listening. 1-2 if you transmit a lot. Those are probably conservative numbers.
