Looking for a good 3.4 V6 engine for swap into an older 4Runner.

I have a fairly good 3.4l sitting in my brown 4Runner still.
I say fairly good because it needs the head gaskets replaced, but other than that, the engine ran phenomenally, even ok on the trails. It would fire up a little rough but once it was warm it cleared out and never used any coolant when running. The timing belt was done fairly recently by mileage with a new water pump, idlers.

I'm sure this is not exactly what you are looking for but figure u would make it known before sending it to the junkyard with the rest of the carcass.

Very true 😆

I have big dreams!!

If our time on this Earth were dictated by having to finish all our projects, I should be good for at least a few hundred more years!

Wanted - FJ60 front or rear driveshafts. Will need to retube for length but would like decent joints.

Hello, it's been a while since I posted. Glad to see the Club and forum is going strong. I am looking for a gx470 or 100 series or even a 4th or 3rd gen 4runner. Built or unbuilt. Not worried about miles. Just not interested in rust. So let me know of any leads or what you have what that you don't want anymore. If you are not actively selling but want to offer it up in the near future that is good too as I have a 2015 SR5 with the cleanest frame in PA (thanks woolwax) that I might be selling.
Thanks, Matt

I have an 07 GX470 that is mildly built. Have been considering selling it as of late to start another build. 190K, and the frame is in good shape. I’ve kept up with rust prevention.

If you’ve got 6 figures to spend it’ll be an easy find :) Anything less seems to be tough right now!
How much of a pain is to work with the LX? They seem to be more affordable when comparing years but I thought the suspension system was a little different, IE: same as the GX470 air bag delete type operation.

I don't think they are much of a pain to work on, although I have not myself. I think they often experience the same Toyota reliability we are familiar with. You hear about some with troubles with that system, but as you are aware, there are retrofits available.

They are hungry though!

Most of the 570 guys in the 200 section have kept the AHC and are built up with bumpers, sliders and the lot. Lack of KDSS on the LX makes fitting 35s a bit easier. There are also a few guys that have ripped the system out and gone with traditional aftermarket suspension instead of keeping that hydraulic setup.

Anyone in need of stock Tacoma wheels? A friend of mine just upgraded. BFG A/T’s on them currently will “get you to the tire shop” but not a lot of tread left. He said he’d like to get $375-$400 for them.

Reading Rausch Creeks rules last night, looks like I need a spare tire which I have never had for the rig. So looking for a cheeeeeeaapp 33” tall tire on a rim. Has to fit FJ60 axles so 6 lug and a center bore you can get a hub through. Needs to hold air, for long enough to get the rig back to the trailer. Everything else is optional. 15”, 16”, don’t care. Long as it’s about 33” tall. Thanks in advance!

Ok guys I really need some help. Turns out the frame on the truck I bought is worse off than expected. The shop that was gonna do some restoration work is recommending I try and find a frame in better shape rather than having to drill and tap a bunch of frame holes. I'm looking for a new frame for my 1997 80 series. Anyone out there have a decent 80 series frame or even a roller? Thanks in advance.

If you can't find everything in one place I have a 15" by 8 or 9ish rim you can have. Not entirely sure what the backspacing, etc. is but they fit on my 40 - which has FJ60 knuckles and steering. Unfortunately I don't have any tires but if you can solve that part of the equation my rim should work.

@FuglyYota ... Nobody is checking for spares or anything else at Rausch. The only rules they definitely enforce are 1. make sure you pay and 2. don't head out alone.

Does an 80 series rim with a 33" tire work? If you can't find a spare I can bring one along if it fits. Let me know in the club events thread.
