diesel or gas in OZ? also is the price AUD? sounds pretty high....

I bet that would be AUS $ for diesel. Seems to be some in AUS are considering petro motors running gas (LPN) as the price of diesel there has sky rocketed ahead of gasoline. Was reading a few reports on the price of diesel there. It seems that they are more impacted by demand for diesel in India and other parts of S. Asia.

The more I read about it, the more difficulty I have shaking the dreaded feeling that this is going to cause a global recession...

recession is here...the birds are circling

A report on the news this morning of a North American driving survey shows that 86% of Americans have reduced their driving, 50% of Canadians have reduced theirs and 56% of bitish Columbians have reduced theirs. Tourism is going to get a nasty hit this summer and there will be more of them going under. The stupid Liberal BC Government still has there Carbon Tax ready to be applied to all fuel on July 1st to get us to drive less. So it will soon be going up more. Prerequist for being a politician in BC = loose all connection with reality. :bang:

i thought that was for ALL politicians...

although the one reason i liked old Klein was he said what he thought and did what he said he would do. he is gone one year and Alberta is feeling the effects.

I wonder when the black market is going to pick up, I'm sure there would be HUGE demand for cheap fuel.

The recent increse in road checks is going to degenerate into refusal to pay fines for using alternate fuels and we'll see a lot more civil objection in court, I'm sure! The government is going to be DELUGED with real hard questions of the sort: "where is the road tax money going?"!

BTW, that's an inflation rate of ((158.9/89.9)-1)% or more than 75% per annum. I wonder how the trucking and manufacturing industries are going to cope.

Something is gonna give.

Reported in an artcile today in the Ottawa Citizen that "Diesel costs have increased 650 per cent in seven years." I believe they were refering to the Rock but it is probably near that across Canada.
No escape from soaring diesel prices

Just topped-up at Superstore for 139.9 in anticipation of getting on the road early tomorrow mornining. So it is up 3 cents in 48 hrs. Must be becuase the Saudies announced they are trying to find ways to reduce fuel prices. You know they say insecurity breeds price increases. Reduced crude prices will be making company execs insecure so they are just reacting to the "good news".:bang: Like lambs to the slaughter...

They are checking for dyed diesel though not WVO, although i'm not sure what the difference would be it's the same kind of thing no road tax...

So what color does the biodiesel need to be? Is it a chemical or just a dye? I'd have no qualms about a few drops of dye in a batch of bio-diesel with the way the blood sucking government and big oil are!!

I'm getting eager to try bio-diesel!
