Hi everyone
I am racing in polish off-road competitions for few years and almost finished my new suzuki jimny buggy. It has 2.0l vitara engine and Toyota lj70 axles. Here starts the problem - in Poland we have lot of sammurai parts (mostly calmini) but can't find any strenghten knuckles or axle shafts to toyota. I also need Ring & Pinion with lower gears - it's the most importand thing. T-case is already slower but lowering gears in axles should help sammi case in surviving 140hp and 35" tires. Thanks for help:)

Buggy used to look like that:

but now there is more aluminium, we added few pipes, and did almost everything needed to run it - all what's left is wireing wich should be done till end of this week. Of course car doesn't stand on coilovers on the picture but you can see the mounts. I can't take new pictures, because car is inside of garage and there is no enough room.
Cicak I have one question to you. I see that you are from Malaysia and maybe you can recomend Malysian Suzuki Samurai or just off-road forum from your country? Friend of mine was on RFC and bought in store Sammi T-case with PTO. I also would like to get one - we already have PTO in Sammi but solution seemse to be weak. If i can buy something in store I assume that it should be better.
I would like also to get some links to shop that sels Lj70 parts mentioned in first post.

Thanks, I will order them. One problem solved:bounce: What about lower gears? It's the most important thing for me because of Samurai T-case. Of course I've made cradle and calmini is inside but it's still weak:rolleyes:

I will be sure if it's enough after first ride, but if it turns out that lower is better for me I would like to order new as quick as possible. The season has already started and transport from US to Poland takes some time. I wouldn't like to pay taxes so someone in US has to send it by privat package and it always take time.

I think that you could order gears from here also: Offroadtarvike - Välitykset

Company is here in Finland and as being EU-country like Poland, you don´t have to pay taxes.

Company owner is driving Ladoga trophy in Russia right now, but throw an e-mail to them if interested. Company has very good customer service.

Thanks a lot-it's the best option for me.
Ladoga-that's real hardcore off-road:)

You´re welcome.

I just came from Russia watching Ladoga. There are friends of mine driving in competition. We also drove some Ladoga stages after the real race had drove it. Shadow Ladoga, you know...

I know - in Poland we have similar races to ladoga, maybe a little bit easier but it's still hard:) However, cars made by russian people without axles are amazing for me and I can't understand how someone could get them done:clap: In poland we say that Russia is country of great possibilites.:grinpimp:

As far as I found out Longfield axles does not make parts to lj70 :/ Is it possible to make them fit into lj 70 axle easily? If not maybe you can recomend any other manufacture?

the inners and birfs are the same as the full size 70 series, order for a BJ70 and you are golden.

-90 and up LJ/RJ-70 has bigger birf than older. It´s size is between normal and HDJ/HZJ size. What year are your axles, Sloid?

And yes, Russian has a lot of possibilities. But it is a crazy country.

Axles are from 87. Maybe stock axles will survive, because car weights less than 1200kgs, but I don't want to take that risk.

Isn't it necessairly to modify axle hub? I am not sure if outer diameter is same as in lj70. Other question that I have is if spline is same? Sorry for asking so many questions but if I order something and it turnes out that it doesn't fit I won't be able to sell it. I am not sure as well if I will be able to modifie my axle (if necassairly) so everything fit. Of course I won't do it myself but I have to tell my subcontractor exactly what to do. Thanks for help

i checked the EPC and the inner and outter are the same for the BJ70,LJ70, KZJ70, PZJ70, HZJ70. you MIGHT have to do a minor amount of grinding to where the birf goes through the outter end of the housing but usually that is just when installing into the older 40 series.

you are golden, run with it.

it is the same work as replacing a broken birf, actually easier since the new shafts are already greased and ready to play.

Ok, I'll buy ones for BJ70 but what about axle shafts? Where can I get strenghten ones to lj 70?

Buy a complete set of 30spline longfields with 30 spline inner shaft too... Then you just need a set of longfield hub gears.

Next phase would be cryod gearsets...

that is the axle shafts or do you mean rear axle shafts?
if so i will be AMAZED if you break them with your application.
