Running a trail with Mr. Marlin Crawler in person was just awesome!

And that doesn't include the after-trail lecture on transfer cases and the demonstration of how to assemble a crawler box on the tailgate in camp!

I need one of these crawler boxes...

My friend and spotter Dave and I headed for Moab at 6AM. After an uneventful drive over, we checked in at the Cruise Moab safety and registration desk, dropped off our junk at the hotel, then headed out to Poison Spider for a warmup run. We got past the Wedgie, then decided to head back and try to find Area BFE, which I'd looked for but not found before. We failed again this time, too.

Somewhere during our warmup run, my year old Random Technology catalytic converter puked its guts out and started rattling really bad. The local Checker was still open and had a much less expensive replacement, though we weren't able to get it welded on that night.
We stopped by the Cruise Moab campground headquarters, and I was reminded again of how little I enjoy camping...

I didn't take any pictures but we ran Pritchett Canyon. (DID ANYONE GET PICS OF FRIDAY'S PRITCHETT RUN?)Jeremiah, the co-leader and spotter did a great job of getting everyone through safely. Stopped by Moab4x4 Outpost and got the new cat welded on. That's a great shop, if you find yourself in need of one while in Moab.

Thirteen rigs lined up to do Behind the Rocks Friday morning. It as a great trip, though we finished in two groups as several rigs stayed behind to help fix a broken power steering hose on an FJ62. I took a few photos on White Knuckle Hill.
Joe, our trail leader, and a real pro at spotting:

Those 80's sure go down cliffs with authority! This driver enjoyed the ride.

Several folks took a strap...

Notice Jeremy got a little air, even with four guys on the strap. He'd get more when he came down the second time, sans strap.

Joe, headed back up just for fun.

At the party that night, I caught a tired Green Machine guarding the raffle tickets.

It rained a lot Friday night and into Saturday morning. The thought of doing Moab Rim in a cold rain wasn't appealing. so we headed out to find Area BFE again. This time we were successful, but it was a muddy mess. Figuring that two great runs was enough for this trip, we packed up and headed home.

Had a blast at Cruise Moab 2007! Thanks to everyone at Rising Sun and Wasatch Cruisers for pulling together a great event. Overnight run at Hotel Rock/Arch Canyon was great! Attached are some pictures.

First one is of me on the wedgy on Posion Spider. Second one is of Bob Garrett on Poison Spider and the Third is of Justin Tubb on Rusty Nail.

I had such an incredible time. So many are posting incredible pictures I thought I would share something else. The people I met, every single one of them, were as nice and friendly as I have ever met. You know, when meeting this many people youd think one of em would be an ass, not the case. Fun luvin, constant smiles, willingness to help others in need, give you a sticker, loan you tools, feed ya, etc etc, that is TLCA and Cruise Moab comraderie at its finest. The people I met and became friends with are what will always bring me back to this fantastic event.

Did I mention the wheeling kicks butt as well?

Did I also metion that I'm still smiling :D ?

Friday, MetalMasher, thanks to Neill for a great day!

The blue FJ Cruiser is the Trail Team...it has a rather flexible exhaust ;p

Not enough front grip coupled with the receiver unloading the rear led to cessation of forward progress. Apparently, the exhaust pipe didn't get the memo that rearward movement was to be implemented. So when Chris backed out of the obstacle, the truck moved backwards but the exhaust did not, and needed to be persuaded, first by man- and then by machine-power. Funny thing was that the truck sounded just the same with the exhaust bent forward....

Next up: Ben putting his 100 thru the paces on RockChucker...
