My friend and spotter Dave and I headed for Moab at 6AM. After an uneventful drive over, we checked in at the Cruise Moab safety and registration desk, dropped off our junk at the hotel, then headed out to Poison Spider for a warmup run. We got past the Wedgie, then decided to head back and try to find Area BFE, which I'd looked for but not found before. We failed again this time, too.
Somewhere during our warmup run, my year old Random Technology catalytic converter puked its guts out and started rattling really bad. The local Checker was still open and had a much less expensive replacement, though we weren't able to get it welded on that night.
We stopped by the Cruise Moab campground headquarters, and I was reminded again of how little I enjoy camping...

I didn't take any pictures but we ran Pritchett Canyon.
(DID ANYONE GET PICS OF FRIDAY'S PRITCHETT RUN?)Jeremiah, the co-leader and spotter did a great job of getting everyone through safely. Stopped by Moab4x4 Outpost and got the new cat welded on. That's a great shop, if you find yourself in need of one while in Moab.

Thirteen rigs lined up to do Behind the Rocks Friday morning. It as a great trip, though we finished in two groups as several rigs stayed behind to help fix a broken power steering hose on an FJ62. I took a few photos on White Knuckle Hill.
Joe, our trail leader, and a real pro at spotting:
Those 80's sure go down cliffs with authority! This driver enjoyed the ride.
Several folks took a strap...
Notice Jeremy got a little air, even with four guys on the strap. He'd get more when he came down the second time, sans strap.
Yours truly...
Joe, headed back up just for fun.
At the party that night, I caught a tired Green Machine guarding the raffle tickets.
Rising Sun members at the raffle.

It rained a lot Friday night and into Saturday morning. The thought of doing Moab Rim in a cold rain wasn't appealing. so we headed out to find Area BFE again. This time we were successful, but it was a muddy mess. Figuring that two great runs was enough for this trip, we packed up and headed home.
