I just didn't want to deal with pulling them off, clips breaking, having to redouble stick tape them, etc... I actually bought a set of aftermarket moldings that I was going to attempt to paint and install, but they really need OEM clips and the sizing/fitment looked like they were going to be a bit off. This is exactly what i want to do to mine. Remove the tan, especially the dealer added tan door bottoms. why not remove the trim vs painting it on the vehicle?
Looks Great!
So I just decided to paint the originals on the car, its a lot easier. There was enough room to slip tape between the moldings and the body panels, there were a few spots that I had to use flip tape (3M Trim Tape)... It came out clean.
