When they're alternating he knows they're hooked up right because they go 1,2,1,2,1,2

It's really hard to hook up injectors wrong though, and honestly I've never seen them anything but the same color in all the cars I've worked on.
Thanks Dusten, I figured it was that but wasn’t sure if there was anything else to it. I don’t have a ton of experience but I’ve only seen a single color as well.

I've personally owned 60+ and have worked on many more.

Now you’re just showing off😉

Nah, I've owned a lot of pieces of s***.

I also bore with cars and sell them

I've had my lightning 11 years.
My 68 mustang 8 years

I've never owned anything else longer than 4 and it's usually less than 2.

Let’s see how long your 80 stays

I’m slow, someone help me understand why the injector connector color matters if they’re all the same color?
Well it doesn’t really matter, but for the love of Pete, we tend to get hyper vigilant about using correct parts around here, and Toyota got specific here about injector connector color.

Honestly, I’m just glad that some of the connectors still exist after dealing with the NSS…I still remember how stressful it was to cut those and put new ones on.

On the injector connectors, only gray is still available from Toyota, right ? I'm really interested to see how those work, I bought a generic (non Toyota) set first myself, and they didn't fit. Ended up getting Toyota. My originals were so brittle I didn't need the de-pin tool. Some came apart in my hands trying to de-pin, so a slightly more than gentle squeeze in a pair of pliers took care of them quickly.

Good luck !

Jason

I don't know if the toyota ones only come in gray, it's a good question. Actually I dont know if all years had the color coding or if this is specific to the 93-94 flavor. I'm hoping that these connectors will work, I haven't managed to test fit them yet, but given that they are sumitomo ones who is the OE manufacturer I think I should be golden. I will report back with a photo once I get around to "depining". Ill be curious if I have the same experience as you Jason with things falling apart. It doesn't help my old brittle plastic that my workspace is around 34 degrees, the plastic less excited about being flexible.

I have a better long pattern wrench available to me now. I'm hoping to carve out some time this afternoon for the remaining projects. I am responsible for pressing about 100 Belgian galettes (a waffle cookie from my pop's side of the family) this afternoon. We traditionally give them out on solstice, since were a bunch of tree-worshiping, pagan, polytheistic, heathens over here. If I can get them pressed and wrapped I might have a chance at testing out these new connectors.

Its funny how when your rig is offline for repairs and maintenance, you see about eleventy million other cruisers about town. I gotta figure out who owns these other white 80 series.

Until I can acquire a new bronco Badlands with sasquatch for under msrp
you realize that posting this on iH8mud will end in 🔥. Just sayin.😎

I'm not here to impress people. I'm here to learn about my car.

I prefer a daily that I dont have to work on. If I could've found a bronco now I'd already have it, but the mark ups are ****ing stupid.

Maybe you'll see my Land Cruiser. My son and his friend drove up to WWU last night to meet some friends and ski Baker today and tomorrow.

Well here’s my update:

It’s too cold to work on the truck. Unheated detached garage is kinda tough wen the ambient temp is 10 degrees and a wind chill -13 f.

I even have a couple of cool small things I bought myself for Christmas from Slee Off-road. Maybe in a day or two.

What? Are you living at the peak of Rainier?

Bro. This calls for whiskey. It warms you up, gets you limber, and helps you forget about the cold. You have shelter and clothing and whiskey. First world problems! Now get to work!

Whiskey also makes you forget where the heck that 12mm wrench is or what you were doing just a moment ago leaving you ………. Wait, what???

Exactly. Greg needs a reminder that his life is too easy. Come to hawaii and suffer all the bikini models with me. Then you’ll know how hard life actually is.

It’s true. I have a LC! If I was shopping for one life would be hard.

Whisky makes it difficult to do anything without your feet up. Fact.

Well I’m bring in the Land Cruiser inside…

It’s still arctic outside, temps should rerun to way colder than normal 45 and rainy maybe by New Years. In the meantime I’m going to recheck my vacuum switches at normal temps and see if my low ohm reading was temp related or if the switch is out of spec and needs replaced. I woke up the other night (actually my kids woke me up at 2 am, 3:14am, 4:03am and 6:00am on Xmas morning hoping we could start the party) and I couldn’t fall back asleep and i was thinking about that switch…and realized if I reinstall this upper intake without knowing I will regret it if my idle is still low, or I have codes etc.

Plus I might use some LEGOS to upgrade the intake…
