Got them on and running. Took about five minutes.... Because I dropped my beer and had to go up stairs to get a new one haha.

I actually had a silver star ultra high beam go out so I didn't get any open area shots of it. Here are the LED highs though:

I have the Lifetime LEDs in my 1992 low beams. I spent $150 on them kind of accidentally. I ordered a set of 9005 and a set of 9006 for my brothers 2005 LX470. When I went to install them in his truck, I found out that his low beams are H1 bulbs, not the 9006 that Toyota (instead of Lexus) would have been. Anyway, I ended up with a set of 9006 low beams and I decided to put them in my 92 FJ80 instead of my 100 series.

I have been running the 9006's for about a year now and I am very pleased. I am very pleased with the output. They are definitely brighter than my 2001 that still has standard 9006's. Even though they are much brighter, I have never been flashed by other motorists thinking that I left my brights on. I have been so pleased with them, that I have decided to drop another $150 for the brights (9005).

I'm not sure if some of the later model 80's have automatic headlights but a word of caution. My brother has had the Lifetime LED 9005's in his high beam location (2005 LX470) for a year now as well and he is also very pleased. He still has the standard H1's in his low beam location. He said that if he leaves his headlight switch in the automatic position, all of the lights go out like they are supposed to when he turns off the key. But, when he leaves the switch in the automatic position AND leaves the stick pushed forward (high beams on), all of the lights still go out when you turn off the key but the little fan motors in the high beams keep running. He said it is no problem, he just has to remember to pull the stick back to low beams before he kills the truck.

He still very much loves the light output though, and he still wants me to acquire the H1 LED bulbs whenever they finally hit the market. Lifetime has been saying for a while now that H1 replacements are coming.

I have not commented in this thread before now because I felt like this thread was more about the price of LED headlights, not really the performance. If I could buy basically the same system for $60 instead of $150 and all I have to give up is the warranty, I am definitely interested. The lifetime warranty is not worth $90 extra dollars to me, but it is worth $50 to me.

They are sealed and can be submerged up to 3 ft. Only way to find out is when they are tested submerged. I was told they are IP67 rated.

Are you asking about the Lifetime ones in particular or just LED headlights in general?

I think Stevesnj is correct. If they have an IP67 rating they should be submersible. Here is a video of a Lifetime getting submerged...

Eh angry drivers dont bug me one bit.

They are actually pointed pretty low. They don't have a majorly noticable focal point like the silver stars do so it is difficult to capture on the Note 3 camera.

Had a couple friends over doing some CB install / testing for a trip were doing this weekend. We got on the highway (one was in a tracel just testing some head units) and they had both mentioned that they were surprised at how bright / clear (not washed out by yellowing/bluing). I just got off the phone with the tracel driver and he said the only time he figures anyone would have a problem would be if I was at a stop light and right off their bumper. Though I don't think that would make anyone very happy.

I paid 100 a pair for them. They can be found on ebay directly from China for 60 though. I was personally willing to pay the extra money to have them before the aforementioned trip.

another option is to use HIR's, plug and play (for the most part) and they put out lots of light:

Here's the comparison:

Low beam stock: 9006, 12.8V, 55W, 1000 lumens
Low beam new: HIR2, 12.8V, 55W, 1875 lumens

High beam stock: 9005, 12.8V, 65W, 1700 lumens
High beam new: HIR1, 12.8V, 65W, 2530 lumens

are those LED's 2000 lumens on high beam?

That's exactly why I got them. I didn't want to take a chance on possibly getting a ticket so I wanted to stay as close to stock lumens as possible. It looks brighter and clearer.
