white_lx - checked w/ the Parker store locally...they don't do automotive much, which doesn't matter to me, but I'd have to send in the part and connections and they would see if they could match/recrimp it onto a rubber hose. I'm leaning more towards Musky's idea of cutting off the rear. The part numbers are hard to find though??? Parker won't allow me to drive in w/ the car.

I've read the "Rear AC Line Caps" thread and nada re: part numbers. I've checked out the website and didn't come up w/ anything. Are there part numbers for the rear AC line caps? Action-AC only yields "Rapid Seal Kit" for $18.91 - no diagram. That can't be it.

$150 dollars yesterday and I'm back to square one again. No dye found, no leaks found, NOTHING.

It's 103* right now and I'm soaked head to toe like a dumbass. Anybody have any ideas before I go ape ****?

That ^ is no fun!
There are a few places that the dye can be difficult to find: the compressor front seal, as the clutch covers it; either evaporator core, as they are tough to get a dye light in to see; and any line that has a protective cover as the cover can hide a leak. Checking in a dark garage or at night might reveal where the problem is. If you can see the evaporator drain tubes, they may show dye if the evap core is leaking. To get a better look at the front seal, you can remove the hub on the front of the compressor. Hope this helps.

My #'s for the caps are 41-76503 for the 5/16" ($23) and 41-76505 for the 3/4" ($31). I might be able to build the lines using rubber A/C hose, but I would probably need the fittings off the original tubes to be able to weld crimp sleeves on for the rubber hose.

They found it. I apparently hit hit the ARB so hard I crushed the front lines by the ARB mounts.

There have been at least 1-2 others who had their ARB bumper rub/damage the AC line in that same location. All ARB owners should check clearance.

This is what you want them to do. You probably read this, but just in case: 100 Series - 100 series Air Con pipe repair • Land Cruiser Club and Forum

The Burgaflex company mentioned in this post has a North-American contact phone# too. Not sure if that helps.

The small line is 6mm, and the larger one is 12mm IIRC.

Just in case you go the cap route

If I had found the source of the leak right away I probably would have tried it. Still can if I get really inspired. If it is as nice a product as the caps I'm sure it will work great.

The ARB bracket apparently interferes with the AC lines upfront. I can see where it has flattened the line on the bottom from rubbing and pressure. I'm going to see if the tech can put a small rubber pad or bushing on the AC line so this doesn't happen again

cool - but then why not actually fix the leak with their line splice product?

That looks good but to tell you the truth last year I put in that red angel stop leak and it worked great all summer except my rear a/c vents still blew out warm air. I think my rear evaporator or condensor is gone anyways. The front A/C is so cold now I can't even leave it on high more than 5-10 minutes even when it's 100 degrees out. Plus I don't even have the rear seats in.

Have you considered these guys?

Custom hose lengths available. Wondering if anyone tried these guys. Seems like they service many other rear-A/C vehicles, but no LC/LX - yet?

I found my leak this weekend. 5/16 (8mm) tube. Right behind the front passenger tire inside the little shield underneath the hose clamp. Pinhole on the side of the tube. Probably from the road salt here. That cover seems to act as a trap as well.

Cleaned it and degreased first. Then applied a heavy filled epoxy over about 3 inches of the tube. Charging it again this week. Curious to see if this band-aid fix will hold-up.
