Anyone else get an airbag light when installing in an 06? I have solved all of the AC problems and the blower not working. This seems to be the last thing before it’s ready.
I am having the issue of no sounds from speakers and the ATC inop including blower in my 06 that I just installed. If you cut the switch on to test the system without reattaching the wire connector on the right side trim for the pass airbag on/off, that can cause the airbag light and you just need to have it cleared. Can you tell me what you did to fix the issues?

Nope, I didn't have any luck. Returned both units and on top of that Phoenix charged me a 100$ restock fee for their non-working, non plug-and-play unit. So i just received and installed the GROM Vline VL2 unit and so far I LOVE it. Wish I would've went that route the first time. Truly Plug-and-play. I would def. post some vids or pics on here, but I don't know the proper location to do that....
Funny - I am looking at the opposite direction. I just bought and installed the GROM VLine VL2 this week and I really dislike it. Decided I will either go full Tesla-style or simple BT45-TOY.

I see on Phoenix, they sell an "Android 9" version, on Rhino it says "Android 11". Are these different units?

Also... PX6 (six-core) looks about 3 years old, and appears to replace an older quad-core model. Anyone know if there is a new model in the making? Can't really time tech but I would imagine it's about time for an updated unit....

Anybody with a 2000 lx try one of these? I guess there is a new version that will work for my year? I know when this first came out it wasn't available for my year. Seems like the reviews are still pretty hit and miss on these. I have seen you can buy upgraded firmware to make the unit layout better and can install an app to adjust the brightness automatically. I really like the added benefits that this unit has over regular double din like 360 camera, tmps etc. But I wonder if it would be worth it to just get a nice double din with car play. Any thoughts those of you who have the newer unit with less boot time?

Hello Jacob117, I just joined IH8MUD this week. I also have a 2000 LX 470 and am researching a 12.1 vertical screen as my Pioneer head unit went out. I am currently in a detailed text thread with Rhino Radio. The unit they have listed for our year LX is completely outdated. I received confirmation today that they plan to sell an updated unit for our year. I have not been given a date. They will be providing that information on Monday 8/29. They stated that I should expect the specs that are listed under the 2003-2007 LX 470 site. This one:

Hello all, this is my first post on IH8MUD. Over the years, I have learned a lot from all that contribute. Thank You.

I have upgraded my 2000 LX470 significantly over the past 5 years and now am about to embark on purchasing a 12.1 PX6 Tesla style unit after my relatively new Pioneer NEX unit failed last week. Also, looks like my rear AC button is now sticking.

Looking through many posts regarding 12.1 vertical screens I see there are a handful of companies offering these units but only one “Rhino Radios” that seems to have a unit that fits the 2000 LX470. Unfortunately, that unit looks outdated. So, I reached out to Rhino to inquire if they plan to offer a modern PX6 unit for the 2000 LX470. The text thread with them looks to be positive as they do plan to sell an updated unit. I hope to get the specific date for sale this Monday 8/29/2022. They told me to expect the new unit to 100% match the technical specs like those listed for the 2003-2007 LX470. More to come.

I now have an update from Rhino Radios. They are now selling a PX6 12.1 unit for 1998-2002 LC / LX 470. I asked them to update their web site to reflect this news. You can see all the new specifications here:

I emailed Phoenix a few weeks ago, got a strange response to take a picture of my PX6? Nothing after about an upgraded unit -

I'm looking to do this for my 2006 LC, i emailed Rhino and they said : "we are currently selling G6 Android 11. It is already upgraded from the PX6 Android 9 system."

The screen hasn’t been shipped yet.

Hello, has anyone been able to get an Android 11 head unit with AC controls working on an LX470 or LC100? I can’t get the AC working on my 2007 LX470. There are two LC100s on the car selection list, but neither allows the AC to be functional. Seems the “high AC” wiring bundle instead of the “Low Medium AC” wiring bundle has to be used to be able to connect to the factory vertical plug on the side. Wiring and UI both look very different than the PX6 Android 9 unit videos I’ve seen. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have a px6 unit and no experiance with the Android 11 unit so I just taking a shot in the dark. I think your CAN BUS setting needs to be changed. Does the CAN BUS setting change when you select between the 2 car images?

No the canbus setting/info does not change when selecting between the two cars. There doesn’t seem to be a way to “change” the canbus setting. It’s just an info display?

Hey guys. New 04 LC owner here...well, soon to be. I have a JDM 04 LC VX coming from Japan that I have recently purchased through an auction and am trying to get it ready for Canada when it gets here Oct.
Already been lurking on this site and have learned a ton about the 100 series (particularly, the wheels and suspension options, or lack thereof)
Anyways, since this is a JDM vehicle, the nav will be in Japanese and am considering swapping out the head unit and came across this thread, as well as a couple of others.

Mechanical mods I am fine with doing most myself. Electronics installation and I don't get along, historically. I hate electrical mods ( done a couple in my current 03 4Runner with a 50-50 success rate) and am willing to pay those who have the knowledge and patience to do that for me.
I have seen the interior of my vehicle from photos and it looks like it is going to be the integrated NAV and HVAC with the sound system and from all of the info I have read, I think I have concluded that but please correct me if I am wrong:
1) These Tesla style units are not truly plug and play, despite the claims of the manufacturer, unfortunately for me. Or are they plug and play if you keep everything stock like the speakers, amp etc?
2) Even those that have successfully installed them, there still have been gremlins that pop up, either electric or software and not necessarily only the HVAC
3) Since this is going to be JDM and right hand drive, there still may be other issues that I could encounter based on options/features/accessories that this vehicle may or may not have compared to the NA market. Haven't read of too many other than the NA drivers on here
4) Finding a shop to do an install as specialized as this is going to be hard? Or will this be relatively straightforward for most of the stereo shops? Assuming, they would even install somehting that they didn't sell?
5) If I don't do the Tesla style, there are very few other options aftermarket that will integrate the HVAC controls into a sound unit (don't care about NAV, as I use my phone for that anyway)

Probably getting a little ahead of myself but trying to prepare myself for as many details as possible.

Thanks guys.

@RemyRunner I’d put them at plug and play…ish. The main radio and hvac integration is indeed plug and play, getting the amp power signal, backup camera, and undoing the stock steering wheel voice control are not (though documented and not hard). Adding an aftermarket amp goes up another level, but several of us have documented that path as well. The last piece is making sure the settings are correct for your truck in the radio menus, this is where you may have issues with the JDM vehicle.
