My own take on this? After watching the Carnut video, I think was there, he mentioned that (I did not know that before) having AC in the roof is way more expensive and to an extend, complicated, than just the two in the center console facing backwards. I guess it makes all the sense, now that I have heard it. As such, my take on this is that the GX550 OT is already expensive and Toyota wanted to make more profit out of it. I don't have any other reasonable explanation, which IMHO, sucks big time because I am paying for premium and with premium money, to get basically what a down the line strip off RAV4 has, vents in the middle !

That's all I can offer for now... L:OL

Cool but why tf doesn’t the GX OT have them

Not you..the props.

If we are all very honest, unless really going hard off road, the Mini-Vans are THE best traveling/touring car out there. I don't want one, I refuse to own one again, and I will not, but they are the best vehicles for traveling alone with gear, or family, unless we are really taking off-road hard paths. I am just not man enough to admit it and I will buy me a real bad a$$ LC or GX ! :)

Anecdotally, a few years ago while I was teaching a class in Utha where we had to go a bit off roady, one of the cars we had was a mini van, the rest were big SUV's with 4x4 capabilities.... I was the one driving the mini van, and I can attest, that thing took us places ! One day we pushed it so hard that we all have to get off the car for me to try to pass an obstacle in the "road" and I / we did it, but I can say this... I will never buy a rental car ! ;)

Very interesting…

If I remember right there is/was some regulation that allowed the 80 to be considered an RV with the inclusions of a package like what is in the photo.

The one for the 250 seems much simpler. Also, I wonder if the rules changed.

The pads on the 250 seem a bit more accommodating (but still slim). I also didn't see any obvious attachments or ways to access the side panel compartments.

This reminded me of the LC100 "family package" in Japan only market:

The overall event this past weekend at Longo and In the dirt really showcased the community that is already building around the GX 550!

Longo was an absolutely stellar host for day 1.

Day 2 we took the group out to have some fun in the dirt. We showcased the overall visibility, the new visibility tech, E-kdss, and of course the latest version of CRAWL and MTS. Longo Lexus and Lexus Western Area are releasing some content on IG of the event. Here are a couple photos from the rockstar photographers. Matt and Javier.

*shrug* yeah idk. I share the frustration. Seems like the same overall chassis, I’d even suspect the plumbing for it is there behind the headliner if it’s standard on the Premium and Luxury trim levels. Lexus gonna Lexus I guess but definitely sucks imo

I think they have to be plastic because the cross traffic radar is behind it.

If history is any indicator then it's plastic. And that's a good thing.
