I'm hoping for adequate headroom in the new 4Runner (41"+ for me). If it get's that, it'll bring my options to the Tundra, GX550, LC250, and the 4Runner. Once I know that then I can make a decision.

Compare what you can see of the interior to the Tacoma shot below:

I feel like the new 4Runner is going to have to be smaller, noticeably different style-wise, and/or noticeably crappier than the LC250 in materials and features for the LC250 to make sense. I think the LC and GX being obvious twins makes sense., but if the new 4Runner is an obvious triplet and can be had with pretty much the same features as the LC for less, then why buy an LC at all?

If the front end looks something similar to this or the 300 GR, Toyota could have a real winner on its hands....

it will have same materials as Tacoma, maybe just slightly nicer trim on the Limited version (if they offer it).

Top end of the 4runner has a 14 inch screen and LC250 has a 12.3 inch screen.

I know most of you don't care about screen specs but already one up from the 4R....2 if you count the roll down rear window.

4runner doesn't seem to have the rear view digital camera.

The Trailhunter Tacoma is already a level up in terms of off-road ready factory model than any of the GX or LC250 models so far announced. The 4Runner will presumably also have the TH trim with the same setup. eKDSS is great. Probably the best all-around suspension aid for street and trails. But it's probably not really the equal of SDM plus adjustable internal bypass shocks once the dirt begins. I think that's probably where the LC250 and GX end up left a bit behind is in the suspension side. One big plus for the LC250 is that you can probably swap over the suspension from the 4Runner. The TRD Pro Fox or Trailhunter OME shocks are both likely to be just as good as the current fox TRD Pro stuff and might be easy swap over upgrades.

It seems like the proper mix would have been LC250 being a GX (turbo 6 or hybrid turbo 4) with a cloth interior but with the HD running gear, not a 4Runner running gear with a GX body shell. That would have created the clear delineation between 4Runner, LC250, and GX. The 4R images look to me like it will stay true to size and that means very similar to LC250 size. Probably still has a 3rd row option too and more cargo volume in the non-hybrid models.

Imagine the melt down if they offer the 4R with the turbo 6.

Also - just for a rough comparison in profile - I matched the scale on these by matching up the same distance between the tail lights inside to inside. I don't know where to matchup the belt line of the rear window, but fi they are pretty close to matched up, the profile of the LC is a bit more vertical on the greenhouse. And the LC appears to be a few inches taller. I quite like the styling of the LC250. Most likely I'll prefer it over the 4Runner, but we'll need to wait and see what the 4Runner front clip looks like.

One really great thing I notice: wiper is on top! Right where it should be. Protected under the rear spoiler. Won't collect mud and rocks on top and scratch up the rear glass.

I found that odd to be honest.
The 250 isn't on sale yet and then they tease this. Okay wait a second I change my mind. I'd rather wait. That's what most of them are thinking probably.

4R owners are loyal and unless they specifically want the land cruiser name or looks, it will be hard to make them swap.
Agreed. I talked with my local dealer and he said they would come out Feb 2025. I held my Land Cruiser spot and added my name to the “list” for the 4Runner.

If there’s a manual option for the 4Runner then it’s a done deal for me!

Exactly.
