Put my zip code in their website and discovered a place in Versailles, Ohio that is only about an hour from my house - was considering a road trip to Toronto to get this done. I assume they provide the rust protection service, or perhaps just Krown products? I will contact them.

Yep. My sarnia guy mentioned they are in ohio now. But I thought he said they were for fleet trucks??? Let me know. I'm curious now.

Sent from my iPhone using IH8MUD while navigating gnarly trail. Typos are inherent.

They suspended service for the winter but I just re-contacted them to see if they are now accepting appointment. When the guy replied to my email, he didn't say anything about fleet tracks.

A lot of people tend to have their cars done before the winter but now is an even better time to Krown your vehicle. When the weather warms up, the stuff really gets into all the nooks and crannies. It is a bit messy on your plastic bumpers (and driveway) because it seeps out of every hole but you can wipe it off quite easily.

On a side note:
I did my LX before the winter by an independent garage like I do every year.
Now that the weather is better it was finally possible to have my front door windows re-tinted.
Anyway the tint turned out great but they also Krowned it (the shop provides both services). It was a misunderstanding. I told them it wasn't necessary but I didn't really mind because it is not too expensive and it's not going to hurt. I did notice a more thorough job then the usual yearly spray. They drill access holes in the doors and sills etc.. and then close them off with black plastic caps. I don't mind that on my black LX but I am not sure if I would have them do that to my FJ40 or Hilux.

Interesting. Yes, in retrospect, I would would have preferred mine to get Krowned right around now. The rust doesn't occur much below freezing. I will likely get it reapplied this June when I head that way again. And then every other spring there-after. It's awesome stuff.

I had Krown applied today - cost $150. I wasn't present to observe but afterwards talked to owner who did the application. Essentially he sprayed the crap out of the underneath and fogged all the door panels, via drilled holes. Upon return it was dripping all over the place and smoking from contact with exhaust parts. It looked and smelled as if it had been dipped in oil.

I purchased a case of a very similar product - Fluid Film - several years ago, but without being able to lift the truck and the necessary spray equipment, I found all I could really do is spot treat areas. This Krown application was very comprehensive.

Due to the extensive rust on the truck, he recommended yearly treatments. I am even thinking about doing again before this winter, but will see how it is holding up in late November.

I just wish I had know about this product when my truck was new.

It's amazing stuff. Christo Slee will be working on my truck installing a front air locker this month and he will be able to verify how rust free our truck is for being a '98. It's a small investment to keep your truck from rusting to pieces

Any undercarriage and engine compartment pics with Krown or similar product applied? Would also be curious to see how much dirt tends to collect on the underside with this product applied.

I don't live in a region that uses salt (or has a need too) on roads during winter, but have some minor rusting on the underside I'd like to address. I live off of a caliche ranch road so there are times (all too many) between rain events when the dust gets bad. Curious how much caliche dust will stick and accumulate on the undercarriage.

Looks like a thin layer of oil covering everything. As far as collecting stuff, it does.

I went to Krown's Salem OH location and I think they did a great job. Going into the appointment I thought I had read someone say that the entire process takes 45 mins but this place worked on it for 2.5 hours and it looks very thorough.

The engine compartment work is impressive - they really get all up in there and I like the look of the darkened wheel wells :)

I just wish I had done this sooner...I got my LC from the southwest and brought her to NE Ohio where the salt flows heavy for 6 months out of the year. Last 2 years have been unprotected so I'm hopeful this stuff stops it from progressing.

The stuff works. I can attest to that. Word of advice through. Don't overdo the underbody flush car washes. It will wash the stuff off eventually. But yeah, it works well. I think a huge benefit is them drilling your door panels and getting the mist inside all of your metal panels.

Any further updates on the Krown treatments? I gotta do something with my rust free GX470 before winter hits. The place in Ohio is about 3.5 hours from me so doable for a road trip. I just picked up a slightly rusty GX470 that I would like to slow down the rust process on as well.

Use Compressor and Astro gun to do inside holes.

Maybe this is stupid, I know nothing about salt or snow..

The parents of my wife live in Minneapolis and drive really fancy cars for some reason, even in the winter..

About 6 years ago, i saw a very rusty 500SL (2" holes on the doors kind of bad) and I say no...!! we have to do something, so I rig a "High power" lawn system (16 jets made of PVC pipes) that fits under the car, well they park the car on top of it.. (They lean it agains a wall in the dry months..

And Bumm, they turn it on for about 30 minutes, sometimes even using warm water straight for the on demand water heater after a big snow storm..

Every july that we go there I look at the three cars before I even drop by bags in my room and I'm glad to say, Zero rust or at least very little, maybe a chemical will work better, but just rinsing the salt looks to work really well.

note: Heated garage..

Hi, newb here, just picked up an '07 GX470 with modest surface rust in MO, but using it in WI where we salt our roads like it's going out of style. I saw mention of the ziebart process earlier in the thread--anyone had any more experience with their service, or any other recommendations for non-Krown treatments they'd recommend? Nearest Krown center is 10 hours away...

Thanks!

Fluid Film is coming on strong lately. Lanolin-based so it's natural, derived from sheep's wool, and is basically the US version of an Australian product they've been using for years. You can do it yourself, we stock Fluid Film in the store on our site, or you can see if any of these Fluid Film recommended undercoating shops are near you. https://www.fluid-film.com/undercoating-locator/

It's also a great penetrating oil. I sprayed some inside my rear hatch since they tend to rust due to leaks, but otherwise we are salt free here in Oregon so thankfully not much need other than as a tool lube or rubber conditioner.

Agree with Fluid Film being excellent. Maybe go to Krown for the initial rust proofing and have them drill the holes. Over time Krown will eat your rubber and plastic parts. Here is some more info:
