It was a good day aside from the trail love that mjguzzy experienced. Superb spotting help from everyone as usual, thanks guys. Here are a couple.

Most of those from me were in front of Jotter's Way since my pucker factor was way too high to be taking pictures while I was trying to stay glued to Crusha so I could use his line.

Watched Avi be the guinea pig and almost get there, pulled up by Crusha. Mike try and lose some of his bumper in the process. Then Vince, who had been telling me how to get it done, hopped in and put his money where his mouth was and rolled right up it. Pretty sure Andy did it as well, probably while eating a sandwich likely since I didn't see much his truck couldn't handle.

I have several vids, might make a youtube channel to post them up. Will wait and task my 14 yr old with that.

How do I get the pics to post full size?

Hello all, just popping in here to say it was nice meeting two of you on the trail this weekend. I was in the flat black pickup. Thank you for the card. You all had awesome rigsView attachment 1572994
That was me. I wish we had a little longer to talk. Hopefully it was a good day for you and your group.

Yeah me too! Thanks, we had a great time. Hope you all had fun too.
It was a interesting day to say the least. Great time though. One broke battery terminal clamp, a couple of dents, a little winching, one tow strap and a broken t case. Just another day. :steer:

Sounds like an exciting day! When you seen us my friend was looking for a hub that exploded on the first trail. The jk next to me later on blew a brake line. I busted out both tail lights. Like you said just another day

Awesome Day! Great to catch up and meet new people!
Tried some new trails, Got stuck, I think this was the first time while I was out with Greg that I got stuck and had to get winched out! Thank you again for the tug up Jotters, next time I'll have some better tires, and more skinny pedal lol!

And a broken shock... No wonder I was able to flex so well in the rear lol!
Guess its time to do a little research and see what I should use instead of the standard length rear LC shocks and maybe some limit straps.

I'm glad Andy was able to get you a card! Great Meeting you!

It was a good day of wheeling with a few new faces. We had eight trucks, Andy @jamarquardt22 in his first gen 4runner, Avi @YotaFun and Woody made another appearance in Avi's 2nd gen (?) 4runner, Vince @VBRoamer in his LX450, Chuck @maxse01 also made a rare appearance in his beautiful 100 series, Greg @El Dahs came out for his second run in his built Taco, Chris @Cass007 had his inaugural run in his 80 and brought along a friend, Mike, in a 2017 Taco TRD Pro, and myself in my 80.

I forgot my camera...again, and did not take any photos. Too busy leading the run and spotting to bother using the Iphone

I'll do my best to retrace our steps, but it's a bit blurry. I missed having a navigator... @shmukster knows Rausch like the back of his hand!

Here goes...

I initially wanted to head directly over to the Western property, but got a bit sidetracked and we ended up over to the far East and went down trail A with a pit stop at Jotter's Way. I figured a few trucks would like to give it a shot. Avi gave it his best, but it was just a bit too slick and steep. I think he would have made it with a little more skinny pedal, but he ended up with his bumper against that rock outcropping that seems to like to eat bumpers and tail lights! He tried valiantly to get up that hill with lots of spinning/smoking/bouncing tires, at one point ending up on three wheels and getting a bit too tippy for comfort. Winch event number one.

Next Mike gave it a shot in his new TRD Pro...same thing, except this time he nailed that pesky pointy slab on the right and dented both side passenger doors (OOFAH!), as well as pinning his bumper in the same spot as Avi. Winch event number two.

I was moving my rig out of the way and missed Greg @El Dahs, cruise up it in his newer Taco.

Andy, par for the course, walked right up it in his 4runner :smokin:

We then headed over to Trail 2, but I think we did a few short blues in between, not sure which ones... anyone recall? I think we then ran up 1A and did the G loop, then over to trail 2. We did the length of 2 and headed over to 12C, into 12B, and then 12A.

I think it was on one of these trails where the TRD Pro ended up getting seriously high centered and needed to be winched again. Maybe this had something to do with the issues he had later in the day?

Somewhere around this time we stopped for a leisurely lunch. Luckily, it had warmed up quite a bit by now, as it was VERY cold in the parking lot earlier in the day. After 12A/B/C we headed up J to hit trail 15. We ran all of 15 and it was probably close to three by this time. Andy and Avi split off and went to run Stout, which is a black, not a green as shown on the map. I took the rest of the group through trail 10A. We met Andy and Avi at the end of Stout and started heading back to the lot vi trail H. Half way up, Mike had a problem with his TRD Pro. It shuttered and then would not move. Apparently the transfer case decided it wanted to stay in neutral. If coaxed, it said...hell no, via loud grindy noises. I strapped up to the Taco and towed it back to the lot. It's funny, I, literally, barely noticed I was towing anything except for the occasional jerking and the few times the strap accidentally got run over. We made it to the lot with no issues.

I had a great time. There's something about being in the woods, with a bunch of cool Toyotas, being driven by people that don't annoy me, that has a head clearing effect. :) I'm ready for next month!

@Cass007 , your list is a good one, all valid points, but I'll highlight the more important lines for ya!

- Deflators are a thing. I need those.
- Don't be a moron and at least bring a tire guage
- Have a plan to re-air or be prepared to wait for the open hoses. At least have my own line and fittings to use the community air.
- 6" lift doesn't solve all problems. I was thinking the more lift the better. Seeing what people did yesterday changed that.
- Trust your spotter, even when it feels wrong, listen to what is being said and hold your line.
- Gearing, gearing, gearing ... I get it now and see why it's so important.
- Practice brake and throttle at the same time. Thanks Crusha!!
- Lockers are like a security blanket. Needed them 2-3 times for only a few seconds, but was happy to have them.
- Make sure the battery is secured. Seems like common sense right? Lesson learned. Bring tie downs too.
- Be okay with breaking something.
- Don't try hero runs and hold up the group forever. Press your limits to find them, but know what your rig is and isn't capable of.
- Recovery gear. Super important. CB also for keeping in touch with the group.
- 4Runners, Tacomas and 100 Series are serious vehicles too. I was an 80 Series snob and have been educated.
- Jeeps are a dime a dozen. EVERYONE seems to have one and bringing it on a trailer seems to be required.
- A 24 year old Cruiser can pull a new Taco over a green trail.
- Having the AAA coverage with the 200 mile tow radius = WORTH IT.
