One week before we were going to OBX, Lydia’s Exploder decided to blow the transmission. Sooo.....
Logan’s LC is going to the beach!

The last 4 days I have been getting it ready for its first trip to Hatteras since 2007. I feel confident that I have it ready with fluids topped off, a/c recharged, radio working, a few new stickers, and a freshly painted d-ring. Am I forgetting anything?

I just have to say that you too need to blast some of Logan's tunes as you're up there. Still the only person in the group with my personal taste in music...
 
Thanks all! And thanks Al for posting the pic of Logan. I was thinking about that pic and what year it was. He will definitely be riding with us on this one.

Leaving tomorrow in the am and I will put in the Alkaline747trio CD when I come through Raleigh. That might be all I can handle. Lol
Now Avenge Sevenfold will be blasting when I hit South 12! :steer:

The sun and beer was fantastic....and so was the 80!

What a wonderful trip. The only hitch was the radio went into protect mode when we reached Kitty Hawk; but wth. Who needs a radio at OBX. We tried to hit every exit ramp from Buxton to Ocracoke and the cruiser was fantastic. It was like it was made to ride on the sand. Thank you ONSC for making this trip possible. I definitely wouldn’t have considered taking the 80 without all the work you guys did last summer on the Cruiser. Thank you all!

Our first trip to Hatteras was in 1993 and we have only missed going about 4 years. This is our view from the house, which is just to the left of the community center in Hatteras. The first year we went, we drove past the center because it was the first building you came to. Now you pass houses a quarter mile before the center.

the protect mode generally indicates a speaker wire came loose or something pinched a speaker wire.
 
Looks like you guys had a good time!

We had similar issues with our radio. I unhooked the rear speaker on the passenger side and the two extra speakers in the roof in the back. We can crank more volume now but it still cuts out. When I do the swap in Heather's truck I will pull all the old speaker wires and run all new. Hopefully that will end all the fun and games with the radio cutting out. We're old, we like our tunes loud.

Are we the only ones that will drive by the house and cruise around a bit just because a good tune is on the radio?
