Chris,
The only recommendation I have for tree service is Maloney's
706-291-8348. None of them are cheap

True that. THe two we need to have taken down are right there by the driveway and pretty close to the house on that down hill slope. That close to the house there is no way I am going to do it!Chris,

NOICE tailgate!
Those sharp square corners at the top front edge of the angle iron you used to reinforce the sides look like a nice place to catch your hand while loading or unloading something...
I do not disagree, but am way ahead of you. Thought the same thing and I cut them like this before I tool the pics:
Dontcha mean after?
Cuz, like, if'n ya took the pix Before ya cut, then we'd, like, see what we're seeing.![]()

Update:
The Nissan is still in the shop. I was told that Nissan discontinued the roof panel and the body shop was unable to find one. I found one last night on-line.
Anywho - I strapped the frame to the roof of my work car and load up the other large bits and took them to my sandblaster. I should have them back today. I started blasting the small bits myself in the cabinet and got about a third thru that stuff. One more day of that and POR will go on.
I will have to wait to get the tub done until I can transport the thing. In the meantime, I am going to reassemble the frame and get it rolling.
Great idea - if I had something to pull it withTransport the tub on the finished frame. You can hold it on with four bolts well enough for travel, I did this for several trips with no ill effects...
Well, they say it is really not necessary after sand blasting but I figure POR15 is an expensive PITA so why not do the extra steps to ensure a clean prepped surface. What are you using for the zinc phosphate and how is that process to do?

I wash the metal with Marine Clean and then rinse with water then spray it with Metal Etcher and keep it wet for 15 minutes (30 if the metal is rusty) then rinse again. When everything is dry, lay down two coats of POR15 and w/i 24 hours top coat with chassis black.
POR15, Inc. - Stop Rust Permanently - Repair Gas & Fuel Tanks has all the info. There is probably a cheaper source for the prep steps but there are also coupons available online.
The stuff is all indoors and ready for POR tonight.
Chris,
You are smart to be taking the time with the surface prep. When I sand blasted my trailer, I did a cursory surface prep and it has developed numerous spots of poorly adhered paint. I should not have rushed; now I have to fix the bad spots. You will still be happy with your work several years from now.
