Doesn't that cone washer have a slot in the side?

Yes. I'm thinking it should tighten around the sensor as i draw the bolts down. I bought some exhaust cement today at NAPA to lube it all up before i bolt it down to help seal it.
There is no other gasket that i remember that went with the oem cat. The hole was tighter i think was all.

:hhmm: yeah that sounds reasonable

so clean!! nice work man

Joe, I used the same CAT - and as I remember, the thermosensor port is just a blind pipe into the guts of the CAT. No need to worry about sealing it. I ran mine without the TS to see and no exhaust pooped out.

And should you lose the Thermosensor, I'm in the market :D )

She is lookin' beautiful.

Happy Gnu Year!

I could of swore it came out at the back of the honeycomb. I even stuck the sensor in and seen it . I think.

Strictly for looks.
Being not from Licking County i need to go through an inspection.;)

They would never know if that part was there or not......

Also since your FJ60 is now 25 yrs old, you may want to consider getting QQ plates, since no inspection is ever needed then.

Zack

Been a long time since I've popped in to this thread. It's looking very, very nice!! Between this and seeing pics of Waggoner5's shop, I think it's time to start thinking about how to approach my '90. :hhmm:

No they probably wouldn't , you're right.

I think QQ has too many restrictions.

So the inspector will look for the little thermosensor, but ignore the missing air injection system and EGR stuff?
Is his name Ray Charles:cool:?

No, his name is Eric.:flipoff2:
I could of swore that hole went all the way thru but Spike says no.
Hey, you got any of those exhaust manifold side EGR block off plates we talked about yet?
BTW, the freakin' lock nuts for that are NLA from Toyota. WTF?

Gonna be a beautiful rig. I'm just curious about the decision to stay with the 2F and not go with a 3FE considering that you have gone to such expense with everything else. Just asking?

RE QQ Plates: Yeah, I was looking forward to that too. But here in Texas you can get Vintage Tags, but they restrict you to weekend driving and to and from Antique shows or car meets. Now I don't know that they are really strict on enforcing that, but you know there's bound to be some energetic a****** with nothing to do that justs waiting for something like that.

Joe, ya know I realized mine is the 1-State version, i.e. for f$%!*&! California, which is supposed to be OBD II compliant, where the 49-State versions are not (have no idea what is the diff). Maybe that's one of the differences ?

:meh:

Simplicity.
Wanted to keep it somewhat original I guess.
I toyed with a dream of a Caterpillar engine, but that quickly faded. I studied a roller on a job real good for a while. It had a small strait six, about the size of a 2F. But I came to my senses.:hillbilly:

Nice work on the frame and restoration. I am working on my '85 and the rear frame cross member is rotten. Just curious is to whether the rear cross member on the 62's work on the 60's. They look different.

thanks
