Twas a 60 Labor of Love day weekend.
Got the Safari from Kurt which got fit installed, wire wheeled an painted the rear driveshaft, and dropped the fuel tank out. Surprised there wasn't more rust on the body over the tank.
It's now ready to make the half mile trip up the road to my friend the paint dude.

Ha.
Yes sir everyone. I had the pleasure of working with the master in his garage buttoning up the 2F.
I'll post some pics of that new crown jewel when I get home tonite.

No, it's not quite like it was then. With the price of scrap, all of the drum brake axles, F engines & 3-spd trannies have been sent to China.

But otherwise, same junk piled in the same corners.

Did you buy those tires new? I searched Generals site but could not find them. I am looking for that type of tire for my 40.

Thanks,
Daryl

Hey maybe I missed it, I didn't read every page in your build.

Where did you get the squirel fan for the LHS as seen in the picture? I would like to have one on each side of the egnine bay on a switch so I can remove hot air from the engine bay when I want to.

Had a great Thanksgiving in Ohio at my BIL's and family. Then headed over to Licking County  to unload a core engine and pick up the rebuild Jim had done for me. I had a bunch of parts I had brought along to finish the button up. He also adjusted my carb and recurved the dizzy. Met his very cool wife and dog in the process. Loaded it back up and headed home saturday.
Like i told his wife, and she laughed, it looks so good that i'll probably get the engine, trans and driveshafts in and not want to put the body on.
Thanks again Jim for everything bro.

Bolted up some more stuff on a peaceful warm afternoon sunday in the garage while listening to great old school punk on the ipod.

All 78-later USA cruisers have the carb cooling fan in the LH corner of the engine bay. Since the fuel system is on the LH of F series engines, that should be the only side w/ a carb/injector cooling fan.

Joe brought a bunch of brand new Toyota parts, gaskets, even the fasteners. Thats a new WP & bolts, FP, t-stat housing & bolts, manifold & bolts, fuel line, oil pan...
He had that VC blasted and powdered, so it looks better than new.

In case y'all didn't notice, Joe does good work.

Amazingly beautiful Joe. Great work.

Good work, as always, from our man in Lancaster too.

:)

That motortotor is made from the finest scrap Jersey red oak, white oak and tulip poplar my friend.
Gonna be a shame to cut it up and burn it in the wood stove.:hillbilly:
