Joe_E, I think its time for an update. And after you're finished you should compile a new FSM with color photos. :hillbilly:

Not much to update.
Other than my paint guy got T-boned by an old man who ran a stop sign about two weeks after he started working on the body. He got banged up and has been going to rehab and my FIL told me last week he may need his hip replaced. I haven't been bothering him about the truck because he has his health to repair.

I did sandblast and restore my overseas 2F carb hat and cannister filter though. Came out pretty sweet i think. Also found the OEM hose that connects the two. Gotta hit that with some wesley's tire restorer or something..

What paint did you use for that airbox? I need to do two of them.

I actually took the bottom of the air cleaner to the powder coater because it was too big for me to blast in my cabinet. He blasted it, which is a ton of blasting including the inside, and shot it with satin black powder.

The lid and carb hat i blasted and rattlecan painted with Eastwood Extreme Chassis Black Satin. By far the best paint i have come across.

 I've been meaning to try that paint. I'll go ahead and order some now. I think I can fit the air cleaners in my blasting cabinet....

Did you use their primer too?

Yes for those pieces I used the primer cause I had them down to bare metal. The key is wiping them down good with something like their Pre Prep.
I have used that paint on most all of my parts Yoop. It's that good.

Yeah I always use primer on bare metal and since I got a blasting cabinet almost everything goes to bare metal now. :D

I went ahead and made an Eastwood order. That added up quick.

Sorry about your paint guy Joe

Good progress!

Progress!
Stopped over my paint man Mike's place last night finally. He's feeling better and started spraying the 8B2. He showed me where he found rust starting around the windshield and side windows and fixed it. Also apparently it was sideswiped on the rear corner slightly and they must of backed into something and dented the lift gate. This must of happened in the first couple years of it's life.
He still has a ways to go and i told him to take his time and do it right. He is going to go over the bottom as well.
