I have a code reader as well if your interested. Looks like your friend does good work, thats nice to have especially if its cheap or for beer. Did you buy the leather and have him install or does he do interior work?

just a little update

Now I know you guys have been holding onto the edge of your seats awaiting my next update... well wait no more! (for a second I felt like Lyndsay Lohan on twitter...) anyway I've been really busy with work and breaking in my new gears so I haven't been able to post all the work I've had done to the rig. I've recently replaced the old gears with 4.88's, rebuilt front axle with Marlin seals, as well as a 5-6 inch lift ( OME J's and L's with 2 inch spacers in the front for an even stance) SS brake lines, OME steering stabilizer, MT Sliders, factory wheels that I sandblasted and sprayed with Al's Liner then wrapped them with some 345-75-16 BF KM 2's.

wow, it looks really good with the new rubber! The wheels look kinda like a hammered finish from the pics, but they do look good like that.

Ive got a white 80 with fjcruiser wheels on it and ive been debating painting them black as well, you may just push me to giving it a try.

Is there any good surfing towards baja this time of year?

Thanks Arndog... we're in love... ;)

I went wheeling with a 3 other guys and I had the smallest tires amongst the bunch... no more tire envy. My wheels have a product called "Al's Liner", its a DIY spray in bed liner kit for about $150 including the sprayer. I have pics of the process - just need to put them together.

The southern hemi is pretty quite this time of year - but every once in a while we get a nice combo swell worth heading down.

Sweet ride! Did you trim the front mud flaps for the MT Sliders?

Im interested on the "Al's Liner" treatment.. what was the process.. just clean the wheel as best as you can and spray away?
I tried the rattle can but the paint just beads up like oil in water.....WTF??

Thanks for any info..
345-75-16 BF KM 2's those equal to 37's right ?...

Great job on the work. It looks so different and so freaking powerful compared to the mall cruiser it was! BTW, I have the same code going, so I will be watching to see what your fix is. I need to get into it, but it has been so chilly, as of late, that I have not spent anytime in the garage. Need one of those parabolic heaters!

Oh, and welcome!

What did you use for caster correction?
Caster plates from MT

I don't have many pics of the process, but I will say it's easier than I thought. We spent more time taping and preping than actually mixing and spraying. It comes with everything you need down to the mixing drill bit.

It's a 36+ like mentioned above...

Thanks for the kind words! She has come a long way, in a short time period. In regards to your 402 code, I took my truck to a local toyota shop (SD Trux) and they handled the rest along with a laundry list of other things.
Now THAT is a beaut!

Looking good!

Looks familiar for some reason...:hhmm:

Oh yeah, meet its doppleganger...

White 80's rule!
Nice Job

Back at ya!

Just had a double cardan front drive shaft put on from Slee. The front end vibs are gone - which isolated the rear vibs.... it never stops... but I'm ok with that!

You are wasting no time! Love the new tires. They look meaty. Now my girth is feeling inadequate. Although I have you on length by a few tenths. :D
