WULF,

Please wait til I get home, I'm parched and there's one left in the ice box. I wanna go happy. :flipoff2:

They flamed you at QRZ... ??? Imagine that !!!

What would one of the best radio sites out there know about communication equipment anyway.

Maybe if you told them you drove a Corvette they would be nicer.

I bet the guys at www.Idriveavett.com are nice...

Yeah qrz definitely has a nice site and a TON of users.

Most of the users there were actually very helpful and freindly. I think out of 20 or so responders to my post there were only 2 truly negative people posting. But of course as always, a few whiners make the whole post look like a flame :) Especially when they tap into my dark side and make me excersise my wit and defend myself.

But I am wondering... What does driving a Corvette have to do with QRZ.com?

wax,
no you will not find a fj80 with e lockers, for that you have to go to 93 up fzj series or even a lexus lx450, FWIW be patient you will find one you like. I am not sure of when they changed over to obdII (anyone?) but if memory serves the ifz block is all obdII. as far as a dog towing the 3FE will do better than your 60 series for towing under 2k. above that they are both dogs.
as to teh v8 swap check out lone star land cruisers and marks adapters. there are a few people stateside who ahve done it and it has been documented but I love the simplicity of the 3FE. eventually I will probably change mine out but not a high priority for me as I drive the 80 about once a week now. I will either swap in an 8 or buy an fzj with the e lockers. pm me sometime if you want more specifics or do a search for v-8 in the 80 section. should find it there.

Sorry kids but as you can see below, the power entrusted to me by Woody's software doesn't provide for a limited strike capability.

It's times like this that I've often wished for some more control but I can either push the button or not; there's no in-between and no aiming capability.

The good news (and there's always good news) is that I have complete control over when the GDB is pressed. So drink up boys and girls. :D

Yeah I feel the same way about my FJ60, I've been just waitin for the 2F to die for a few years now before I put a 350 in it. I thought I got lucky when my water pump failed on a trip from the Canadian Border to Spokane, it was pretty much maxxed out on the temp needle. Somehow the head didnt warp, I think that it being 20 degrees outside at the time helped.

Man it was hilarious. Tryin to pull our pop-top tent camper up a hill with no water pump and praying that my speed would stay up enough to make it home, as soon as I turned into my driveway WHOOOSH!!!! the big hose in between the pump and the lower radiator junction exploded. Scary, but funny after the fact, I'm just glad it waited till I got home.

Thanks again Dave, have a good one.

THe tan interior is prefered as it is "earthtone" and the plants will be more at home. :flipoff2:

Sorry -B- ;)

That reminds me, I have GOT to get that RF window to go down faster. It's tough to swing the barrel with that sloooow window in the way.

Ref: Marine Grease...the green stuff.... ;) Also, hacksaw the barrel on that Garand

I need to fabricate a brass catcher to hang from the sunroof shade, any ideas?

Try this...just stick it to the side of the receiver, and bend a coat-hanger in a circle to keep it open http://www.probass.net/protips/JeffBruhl/jb15.php

I'm not going to get into the legality and right versus wrong issues, but a couple of thoughts.

Way back when, I remember running a few linears, up to about 250 watts (a far cry from my current Cigarette lighter Cobra Radio with a radio shack mag mount for off road trips). Depending on the Linear, you could have serious problems with interfearence because of blead over, or no problem. It was the quality of the amp that tended to affect the amount of RF interfearance. Assuming it is a clean amp, I wouldn't expect there to be any problems. Also, as I am sure you are well aware, 50 watts and a great antenea trumps 500 watts and a crappy one.

:o WHAT? :'( The entire gas system needs to be modified to do that. :-\

Do like the hanger idea tho. ;)

Will,

>> Sorry -B- <<

I said I appreciate good spelling... not that I practice good spelling. ;)

Sorry -B-, I'm too much of a smartass to let that one pass.
