@roadstr6 Great write up I just pulled the trigger on this and I am looking forward to used it on our next Road trip. Plan is to mount it on our FJ60

Well-after a year I finally got a chance to install this puppy! Happy with it overall. Dave might be able to comment on longevity as his has been installed and in use for a year or so. My bigger challenge was the roof rack. Dan was gracious to reproduce 1a Yakima towers like no other and while I plan for another mount I wanted to try this all out before diving in the deep water. I didn’t want hi-rise adapters as they are as tell as Empire State and how gowesty.com was out of stock on low rise so I reverted to making my own adapter and must say I’m happy with results. Wanted to be just above roof about an inch with bars. All in all we’ll see how she handles in the wind. Gonna look into wire little leds internally on perpendicular bars so I have a dim light for night. Use report to follow once I have to time

Also while buying stainless hardware I stumble on these bins. I offered to buy them all from hardware store owner and should have them in next few days (15-20, maybe 25 bins). If interested let me know.

My el cheapo Yescom awning is still holding up just fine. No real problems with it. The rivets that hold the awning and bag to the backing plate have loosened up a little, so I can hear and feel it jiggling a little bit at high speed. I think this could be fixed easily by drilling a few holes and placing some small stainless steel bolts and lock nuts to really cinch it down tight. Other than that issue (which is not really an issue) it has served me well for 1.5 years and still going strong.

Those bins look cool. I could definitely use as many as you’re willing to give up
