How's the engine and interior? Your going to need some metal fab skills for this one and a lot of fluid film.

are you looking for a 60 or 62 series? sure looks like a 62 in the pic above.

I would pass on it unless it is half that price

if you have time, find some local cruiser owners and make friends, good friends, because a good portion of classics are sold between friends or acquaintances! I’ve got cruisers, vette’s, a chevelle, just sold a ‘55. All bought and sold before going to open marketplace. The point is , most nice classics rarely hit the open market (unless the owners want max profit). My $.02

Frame replacement gets awfully expensive, providing you can even find a frame that's near enough to you to go get it.

Unless your metalworking skillz can handle what's apparently needed (at half that asking price, at least), RUN!

You also don't mention anything about mileage, maintenance, engine condition, etc ... All of it adds up very quickly making your cheap purchase not so cheap.

All I want to add is just, Ruuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!
It is a big project with out some mad metal skills like some other guys here.;)

Run as far as you can. Rust might follow you from that thing.
I concur whole heartedly with this analysis and just want to add when you get to “as far as you can” be sure to run a bit farther.

I just bought an 88 FJ62 for $1250 and it looks about like that.

no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no

heartbreak right there

The seller must realize nobody will take this for that price so you might wait and see when price drops, it is all typical rust and done before, many times.
You can talk about it for days or just get the grinder out and cut it out, replace with 1.25mm metal, 3 to 4 mm for chassis, fluxcore welding if outside and beginner.
If technical is ok someone might do it, not to become a mall queen but a good 4x4 trial.

rust free:

The trouble with that particular rust is that is a structural part of the body on the bottom. It's not as easy as replacing part of a smooth body panel.
