I just did a AHC fluid change thanks to the "ABC of AHC" thread and my ride is for sure improved. Really the ride is better than any car I have ever owned. I replaced the bleeders at the globes but could not replace the one at the accumulator as its a different length than the others and I didnt plan for that. I replaced the reservoir as well for good measure. The fluid I removed from the reservoir via vacuum pump looked clear but for sure not pink. The fluid I got from the bleeders was very dark and very foamy. My question is should does the foamy fluid for sure mean globes have lost some or all of there initial charge to the fluid I just removed? My globes have a 2002 date on them (2003 lx470, 104,000miles).
New AHC fluid has a pinkish tint. But that tint doesn’t last very long. Then the fluid will be clear… as long as it is clear with no dark specs in it, it’s good.

Dark fluid is age related. Foamy fluid is aerated fluid… probably from nitrogen weeping into the fluid.

Make sure your hydraulic struts are not leaking. Clean them off very well… And watch over a period of time to see if they get wet.
If they are leaking from the hydraulic connection at the top, there is an O-ring and a backing washer that need to be replaced. Cheap and not that easy. It also would be a good time to do bushings as well. Really freshen up the ride.

If your truck is rusty, don’t even bother trying to replace the rear bushings… Unless you’re willing to replace the struts as well… Probably have to cut them off if they’re seriously rusty.
Replacing rear strut bushings is a pain in the ass job on a rust free, California truck.

Globes from 2002 are 23 year old originals. New globes and fresh AHC fluid will help to restore the ride quality.

Anybody bought anything from Impex or Amayama to Europe by any chance? I ordered electric adjusting steering wheel motors from Amayama, since Impex didn't have them and got absolutely skinned by customs. They sent me a laundry list of a bill with all kinds of fees, taxes and duties and whacked 33% on top of my total bill from Amayama.

You may want to try eBay. There are some Japanese sellers that ship direct and seem to skirt customs a bit more easily than the mfg companies. I did this for globes recently and it worked perfectly

I have this issue where Impex won't add new items to my cart. I will hit add to cart, it shows an additional item, and then it isn't there when I click on the cart. Anyone had something similar happen? It will also reduce the total for a line (if I am ordering more than one) back to one. Frustrating site to use.

Where did you get your Globes from?

Yes I did. No problems with install. Packaging appeared genuine, even had stickers for customs. Quality of the ride is dramatically better and the system appears to be functioning as a intended.

You have to create an account and log in.. I had the same issue till I did that

Anyone have a problem with their card being accepted?
Couldn’t get it to work

I just received 4 globes and a few other items from Impex but checkout and payment was a PITA. I tried two cards and neither worked. I later found out one was tagged as potential fraud by credit card company . I ended up using the Paypal option and paid and using one of the cards that wouldn't work directly.

I ordered a set of 4 from JDM Planet on eBay (partly so I had some protection from eBay against fraud).

Ordered 12/17/24, arrived 1/10/25. Appear to be OEM correct in boxes with labels. $641 total including sales tax.

I bought Impex globes about four years ago. 83,000 miles later, one or more appears to be blown.

Anyone else had any issues with globes from Impex?

Do recent shipments contain date-stamped parts?

Sorry to hijack, but my LX has just under 130k on it. Besides the obvious "truck won't raise/lower" are their any other signs that it's time to change globes? Do you think I would notice improvement in ride if I just went ahead and did it & flushed fluid?

thanks!

Lot of threads on this. Revolution/graduation test. Look up ABC’s of AHC.

Any reason not to use these??
Those are aftermarket and not OEM. They may be great, or you may be replacing them next year, hard to say.
