I can't see who the vendor is, but I ordered from an outfit called JDMPlanet (out of Japan) and had no problems with the order. I think I came across them on eBay but I may have ordered directly from their web site. I can't recall which route I went for the order but one was slightly cheaper so I went with that.

My accumulators package from Impex Japan was 38x38x21 cm… 10.82 kg.

For anyone looking for any parts I’m actually removing the AHC system at the end of the month. Globes were just replaced 20k miles ago. Will have all supporting parts as well or at least what is still in tact after removal. Feel free to PM me if you’re interested and we can work out some stuff!

Anyone order anything this month? I was making a list and noticed an alert on August 28th about possible customs/tariff fees? Got a few hundred dollars of rubber parts much cheaper than Toyo or Partsouq still.

I ordered globes (again) as I got an 04 that I’m refreshing. I declared value of $25 USD on the shipment and paid around $21 in tariffs/brokerage via DHL

I also ordered the 6 heater hoses that I replace when doing heater T’s. Those shipped from Amayama, via UPS. This one was a nightmare. Around $37 for parts, then about just as much for shipping. UPS is attempting to bill $72.91 in tariffs, brokerage fees, etc. without providing line items and any explanation of the current percentages as to why these prices are what they are.

I actually priced these out last night stateside, ordering from one of the Toyota websites doing 25% off and it came to 84 with free shipping. I’m still arguing the tariff/brokerage side of this one, but not sure I’ll get the win.

I also received a bill from DHL because they did not collect tariffs on a part coming from UAE that was ordered before the window, but delivered after. Wont be paying that either

Seems ups is trying to make an extra buck or two on these “fees” I’m glad to see the self declared value worked for the globes

All of what you just said is what I’m concerned about. s***
What I will say is that the “tariffs” seem to look different based on who ships it. I ordered a jacket from Japan, and was charged 17.5% PLUS another 15% reciprocal tariff. It appears that happened on the hoses shipment as well, but not on the globes.

I also read that each line item bears a “brokerage fee” through UPS and that adds up if you order 5-10 different items, no matter how inexpensive they are. UPS doesn’t charge a percentage for these line items, it’s just a flat rate per. Oddly enough, they can’t provide any documentation to tell me how they created that number, which is why I’m fighting it so much.

Yeah I mean cart wise I’m like $400 vs $550 but between shipping and possible bs, it’ll eat into that difference quickly.

In my opinion, the deal is gone. If they reinstate the de minis (no duty/tariffs on under $800) then it would make sense.

Check out Serra Toyota or Tuscaloosa Toyota. The 25% off ended last night, but their prices are solid and much less than others at times. Spent a few grand between the two of them this month. Both ship pretty much next day if it’s in stock, Tuscaloosa was more consistent on faster shipping.

Yeah I’ve used them for other parts such as delicate shipping items. JDM was the cheapest for straight up rubber type refresh so far. Thanks for the info on your shipping fiasco.

I've been getting nailed with cost.

I've an order with Impex, paid for part in late July. What they call MAKE Shipping, Sept 1, paid shipping cost. I see it now show shipped Sept 21. Not yet heard from carrier, which will be billing me for tariff. Before package leaves Japan. Before tariffs, package would have been here. Not only does it's cost more today. Tariffs have slowed all shipments.

We're either. Billed by carrier, before they'll ship. Or billed after the fact. Tariff bill, is based on declaration doc's, filled out by shipper/seller. Shipping cost is up yr over yr, 25% tariff on auto parts, 15% to 25% tariff on shipping cost (yes tax/tariff on shipping cost). 2.5% to 5% fee for billing, with minimums. ~2% to 3% exchange bank fee when billed (impex) in foreign currency.

Tariff, is also a new profit center for carries. A gift from someone, that just Loves big business.

My orders have been from 50% to 75% over prorated per parts cost, since Aug 29th.

Tariffs are nothing, more than tax on US citizens. One of the highest tax increase every, if not the highest. I will, be paying my tariff bills. If supreme court rules, legal.

Over next 3 months, as warehouses empty of pre tariff stock. Will be able to see, what effects on inflation this tax has.

I don’t see it being pretty, competition lowers prices, this is going to limit who wants to hold or stock items even ship them with unknown costs.

We get punished for buying quality that doesn’t exist in the US, how free is that.

This right here is why I bought some more expensive parts with the 25% off sale from US based suppliers. CV Axles, Drive Shafts. Wish I had grabbed an ABS assembly and a steering rack. Maybe next time. With 2 100 series and both right around 160k, I’m sure I’ll need that rack for one somewhere in the near future.

This conversation also prompted me to go back and see if I had any open orders from overseas. I do. 3 packing coolers from Amayama. The little rubber worm things that seal the evap core box behind glove compartment. They were supposed to ship with a previous order, but we’re not in stock.

What was a “deal” at about $7 each, will now cost me triple what it would have from a dealership. Thinking I may just take the hit on those and let them stay.

Said to be, to; "Make America Great Again". Hey, I thought it was great! But then, I also thought environmental laws are were important.

Full steam ahead. Milk the USA worker. Build those robotic factories, pump out all the pollution you care too. Then we can just sit back, relax and let AI do all the work.
CO2 is not a GHG

Well. Soon you will get collection letter. People get over 200% tariffs when ordering from Partsouq, supposedly for parts made out of russian aluminum.
So.. No more overseas orders for me. I guess those 25% off at dealers will end soon as well. Enjoy while you can.

I bought a starter relay on ebay for the hilux from Japan and the part is $115 with taxes in TX ($ 222 in the USA). On top of $115, I paid $60 as import taxes. Spoke to DHL about this nearly 52% tax and he informed me there is $17 import tax and $42 import duty and $1 for something else! Best to source from the country. Unfortunately, I cannot get Hilux parts here!
