Just think Al, you can switch to a split case with twin sticks and have 2WD Low available too!
Let us not forget that you can put a Tremec 4050 5 speed behind that motor too.

Nah if I do it I'll keep the awd..... too good in the rain snow and ice I have to drive in.

So just a 4l80e and a split case? 2wd low sounds like fun, but have driven the cruiser with 2wd, handles much better with all4

I use 4L65E & 4L70E to split case. There are many places I go that low range is needed but 4WD isn't always. Frees up the steering a bit as well. Strictly a case of personal preference.

1030 start time for tomorrow just to alert sure I don't run into any issues getting there again like today.

Didn't get near as much as I wanted to today.... was solo all day and had my own work fires I needed to jump on a call for

Post up progress pics!

Grabbing the most important part right now, beer and ill be there right at 1030

So ultimate plans ended up changing.
First thanks a million to @fourtrax @GarnerFJ40 @roflbox and @lumbee1
After a long time we got the engine, trans and tcase out.
Had to pull the whole combo out because we couldn't spin the motor at all to get the Tq converter bolts out.
Pulled it all out. Pulled the motor off the trans.

Pulled the intake manifold, pulled the head and still couldn't get the motor to spin.

Took motor outside and too all remaining accessories off of it.

Flopped it on the side and took off oil pan.... too off ever bolt to take off the oil pump pickup and crank bearings and disconnect the rods from the crank. Still not any game.

At this point the work actually get the tq converter, flex plate and adapter plate off of the 3fe, all of which are needed for the 2fe to bolt back up to the A440 would be incredibly difficult.

Somehow the engine flooded itself with fuild again amd rusted every internal part.

Fun times but based on available time to get this done, needing extra parts and most being turned to the ls swap side. I've decided to get the rig towed my brothers in Idaho at some point and just go through with LS swapping in since everything is now out of it.

So tomorrow I'm going to trailer the rusted block out along with the 2fe to Brian's and go from there
Most likely the 2fe will end up in one of Keefers rigs.
Pretty much everything that should be fairly easy turned out to be a PITA.

Use that as an anchor?
Oh yeah, that motor is roached, but I thought this whole hamom was to be able to drive it back to pnw instead of having to ship it.

well let just say peer pressure is spinning its web.

this is pretty cool.

So you're gonna practice your ls swap on Al's truck with his money? Lol
