New tofab airbox, uses same filter size as a 6.6 duramax. Gets mostly cold air red from the fender. Comes with a black that i can have an opening machined to the same size to hook up to the snorkel if deep water crossing is needed. Bolts over the existing opening with a gasket.

Yeah excited to finally be getting around to this. Was hoping to finish the tear down this morning at 5 before work but I couldn't find my weighted ls/lt crank socket so have a new one ordered to be here tomorrow.

Finished tearing down the motor as far as its going to. Tomorrow is clean and prep the block, timing cover, heads, valve covers etc... before new cam install. Rockauto only sent me one oring instead.of the two.i.orsered.ao.need to.wait for that before the oil pan goes back on and then I can reinstall everything. May paint engine block hugger orange.

Not much work done. Work got busy, had to have my niece and nephews for a week and went to KOH.

But the swaptime harness, my HP Tuners module and my tunes and unlocked ecu and tcu arrived. Mitch forgot the muscle car module to add tap to shift so that is on the way.
No work this weekend so hopefully get more work done on motor build.

Got to walnut blasting the intake ports on the heads. This is a low mileage engine but due to DI there was a lot of build up. Had to modify the blaster gun that came with the HF media blaster. Under $10 in parts shown (wand from air gun and nylon busbing from Home Depot) and we are in business.
