Here's one picture showing the rubber inserts. I'll have to take some more. I still have some templates I made for the sizes that I could post if anyone is interested.

Haha.. It might as well be used for her! I should have connected up some orange and white emergency flashers to itWow. Double hazards. Is that for when the wife drives?
Insets look good on the plain dash.
I got my rear cupholder from the border yesterday, and tried to fit it last night. My center console is all wrong, despite my assumptions that this would fit. The cooler console opening is much further forward, the hook wouldn't reach the opening.View attachment 1032800 View attachment 1032801 View attachment 1032802

I'll trade you consoles. I think you have a TLC "first world problem" on your hands! I'm only kidding- the JDM cooler looks great.
bhicks said:Just cut the hook off. The primary attachment method is the screws and adhesive. If I would have known you were attaching it to an aftermarket console, I would have shipped you one without the hook.
No tradesies on my center console cooler, lol!
That's what I'll have to try, I'm REALLY hesitant to put screws in the console though...not sure what I'm going to do about that. I'm not sure if the console walls have insulation in them or not. For the record, this is an OEM console, not NA market though.
The center console cooler was standard on all JDM "VX LTD" trim models, so most of the HDJ81 imports are of this variety. It was also available in some other markets as well, but I'm not sure on the specifics. I've got some 3M double sided tape here, I might try trimming as little off the hook as possible for it to fit, add a bunch more tape, and see if that works.
In regards to the front double covering the "pwr" and "2nd" buttons; it does not. I have a recessed spot under the 2nd cup holder that allows access to both buttons. It's a tight fit (not a lot of realestate to work with) but it DOES allow for function and access of both buttons. In regards to the inserts being a tad rougher then the cup holder; it's a simple issue. I don't paint the inserts. I prefer not to have a painted surface up against a wet or hot object. With that fact, that means I can't acetone (smooth out) or paint the inserts. They simply come off the machine as is. I DO brush acetone on the backside to ensure all layers are fully bonded and strong. If I acetoned the inside of the inserts to smooth them out I would get a high gloss finish. I used to do that but folks complained about it. They wanted the matte finish black. So I went back to only acetone the outer part that you don't see. That's just part of the fun of 3D printing. It's a real balancing act keeping everyone happy with the product. I try my absolute best to take all complaints seriously and make changes (if possible) to make everyone happy with their purchase. I hope some day to go injection molding which will give that smooth surface everyone wants. That's just a HUGE investment that I wont be able to pull off for quite a few years.
Hey Ian, did you install your cooler later, or was it factory installed? Also, is that a CD holder on the side? I haven't seen one in person before- I'm curious how manyThe center console cooler was standard on all JDM "VX LTD" trim models, so most of the HDJ81 imports are of this variety. BTW... I've found that it doubles as a good straw holder (I'm still addicted to my diet soda).Black or maybe a dark gray that has more black than blue in it. Regardless, my double rear rocks.
Is it possible to get a single front without the pen holder? I like the idea but don't need a pen/pencil holder.

That's awesome! 18 cans??!? I might have to look at retrofitting one into my US fzj80 (first I need to finish up my mods/installations that I'm currently working on, though- this cold weather hasn't helped out much!)It was factory installed, cooler w/ ice maker. The bit on the side is a cupholder next to the driver's elbow (truck is RHD), it's double wide compared to most trucks had, I can't tell you why. My last HDJ81 had a single cupholder in that space. I believe it fit 18 cans inside...that should do me for a while, lol.
