Ok yeah it has a phone app as well. I can bring it up in my phone any time I want.

Also you can also get from Belkin a remote switch. Plug it into the wall and then plug the printer into it. If you see the print fail then just shut the power down to the printer.

Cool!! thanks for the links. I didn't even think about a remote power switch but that is a great idea. I had planned to use my tax return to do some upgrades to my current printing system then I got a call from my tax guy last night. I HATE California!!!!!! WTF!!! I thought I had made a little profit this year on this little 3D printing endeavor. NOPE!!! Not only did I have to pay a stupid amount on income tax on my sells they then added a 15% self employment tax AND said I could not right off the 5 machines I purchased. 90% of my right off had to be "capitalized" and had to be spread over numerous years. WTF!!!! I also had to pay sales tax on a lot of it. I anticipated the income tax but not the other two. Did I mention I HATE California!!! My anticipated little tax return has now turned into me owing. I owe more than I made. WTF!!! did I mention how much I hate California. how can anyone be successful in running a personal business with the stupid amount of taxes in this state? This year I will have to make some serious changes in how I do things to have any hope of making a profit. I guess I will write this one off as a lesson learned. I think it might be time now instead of later to move up to Oregon with the rest of my family.

Why couldn't you Section 179 the printers? That would give you accelerated depreciation so that you could get more in the first couple of years and less in later years. That's for Federal tax. I'm not sure how it would apply to California specifically.

Your speaking greek to me. I don't know what a Section 179 is. I will talk with my tax guy today and see if that is an option.

I'm the owner of the one-off brown. I went to the large ACE Hardware near me a couple of times and I have yet to find a closer match. I have considered going to a place near me that will do a paint match, but that starts to get pricey. If I find a match, I'll let Brad know so he can offer it to future buyers of the dark brown color. The key will be finding the right brown in a matte finish with no metal flake.

The other day I was driving in overcast weather and when I looked down at the cup holder, the color looked perfect! Of course in the sun, the metal flake adds a gold hue to the brown, but I really don't care. I'm not that picky.

All said, I'm incredibly happy with it! Brad was really great to work with and his product is top notch. I also bought one of his narrow cup inserts and it's almost a must-have. Unfortunately I didn't pay attention to how his listing is written and so I inadvertently only bought one so I'll be buying a 2nd one and possibly a rear double cup holder as well.

So the dark brown cup holder made it to its new owner and he was able to snap a few pics. I had a little sample piece of plastic I was trying to color match. The brown paint I used was almost an exact color match to the plastic BUT was not a texture match. I didn't think it was noticeable on when comparing the cup holder to the tiny plastic piece but once i now see it installed on the large dark brown center console; the difference is much more visible. I used the rustoluem metalic dark bronze with satin finish. The finish ended up being a tad more glossy then the factory plastic and in the direct sunlight the metalic finish is visible. In my house I didn't have it in direct sunlight so the metalic flake in the paint wasn't showing up. I really thought I found the perfect match. It's still close, but not perfect. I am happy to make these for folks who want that dark brown but I want to be clear from the beginning that it is close but not a match. If you are fine with close then we are good. If you want a perfect match then hold off on ordering. The new owner is going to also look for a better match. I was thinking about a matte finish clear laquer over the brown paint may get rid of that slight shine and metallic look. I have plenty of paint left over so I will try to track down some matte finish clear laquer. Here's a few pics of what I have.

Don't worry about buying another one. I will just send you a freebie. You were REALLY patient with me in my hunt for that brown color and I feel bad that I couldn't get an exact match. The color was a match but the finish was not. I'm actually still working with that same paint trying to get the finish to match. Some sand paper and a matter laquer has gotten me even closer to a match but I'm not quite there yet. Just shoot me a PM/start a conversation and remind me of your address. Thanks again for working with me.

Big props to Brad for his single cup holder design. Absolutely looks like it was factory designed.
I just added a little touch of pride to the TEQ...

You're the man Brad!

Does that insert work well for bottled water too?

Ok more specifically 500ml bottled water :moon:

Does that insert work well for bottled water too?

It does make the store bought universal plastic bottle sit a lot more snug. Not sure it is needed for a grocery store type bottle of water since they are not top heavy and don't have that tendency to tip like the travel mugs do. I drive all the time with a water bottle in my cup holder and have never had one tip or even spill in any way. I'm not sure what the 500ml water bottle looks like. If you could post a pic I could let you know if the travel mug insert would be beneficial or not. Anything that is real narrow at the bottom and wide up top with a heavy lid and handle up top is going to be top heavy and the little inserts will snug that up. My regular inserts that come with the cup holders are surprisingly universal and can successful hold most types of beverage containers.

500 ml is just standard 16oz. And it does lean over like the Coke bottle above

The only solution I could see to this would be a tall narrow extension, but I have other plans

That type of bottle is not something I played around with. The water bottles that I buy at stater brothers are straight on the sides and not curved like that. I don't really get a lean like that. The insert will definately make that nice and snug. The reason I don't go with a smaller opening with the standard insert is that the large fast food cups no longer fit. What I am thinking about doing is just putting a $5 upgrade on the cupholder purchase to add the inserts. With the 10% mud discount it's basically a wash. Right now when folks order an insert WITH cup holder I refund them the cost of shipping since that is rolled into the isnert but it will now ship with the cup holder. I will work on that this weekend and get my website and etsy updated.
