Here's one picture showing the rubber inserts. I'll have to take some more. I still have some templates I made for the sizes that I could post if anyone is interested.

Wow. Double hazards. Is that for when the wife drives?

Insets look good on the plain dash.

I got my rear cupholder from the border yesterday, and tried to fit it last night. My center console is all wrong, despite my assumptions that this would fit. The cooler console opening is much further forward, the hook wouldn't reach the opening.

Haha.. It might as well be used for her! I should have connected up some orange and white emergency flashers to it . I forgot I had even had that in there. I actually relabeled it and moved it over to the left panel by the rheostat. It now use it to control my rear mounted LED flood lights. Here's that same hazard switch:

Here's a better shot of the front. I think the double cup holder up front is a little top big.

Here's a shot of the back cup holder with a 32 oz nalgene and fenix e25 flashlight. You could fit most similar small flashlights (e.g. 2xAA mag light).

The factory square "cup holder" is now the permanent home of my trusty leatherman wave with bit/driver assortment, mini sharpie, and a maglight solitaire:

Just cut the hook off. The primary attachment method is the screws and adhesive. If I would have known you were attaching it to an aftermarket console, I would have shipped you one without the hook. The hook doesn't offer much strength anyways. It's super thin so it can slide through the hinge which makes in not very structural. It's really there just to hold it in place and centered while you install the screws. It makes the job much easier and allows the install to be done with one set of hands. The folks with the hard top/tray on their center console don't even have a hook. Leave about a 1/4" lip on the "hook" so it can still hang off the back of the console and stay in place while you install the screws. You want to left over piece just long enough to touch the back of that hinge but still allow the cup holder to sit flush on the back of the console. If you have any questions or need some help just shoot me a PM and we will get it figured out. Make sure to make a quick cut. A slow cut will heat up the plastic and release gases that are really bad to breath in. It's like tossing a plastic object into a fire and then breathing in the smoke. A big no no.

I'll trade you consoles :hmm:. I think you have a TLC "first world problem" on your hands! I'm only kidding- the JDM cooler looks great.

In regards to the front double covering the "pwr" and "2nd" buttons; it does not. I have a recessed spot under the 2nd cup holder that allows access to both buttons. It's a tight fit (not a lot of realestate to work with) but it DOES allow for function and access of both buttons. In regards to the inserts being a tad rougher then the cup holder; it's a simple issue. I don't paint the inserts. I prefer not to have a painted surface up against a wet or hot object. With that fact, that means I can't acetone (smooth out) or paint the inserts. They simply come off the machine as is. I DO brush acetone on the backside to ensure all layers are fully bonded and strong. If I acetoned the inside of the inserts to smooth them out I would get a high gloss finish. I used to do that but folks complained about it. They wanted the matte finish black. So I went back to only acetone the outer part that you don't see. That's just part of the fun of 3D printing. It's a real balancing act keeping everyone happy with the product. I try my absolute best to take all complaints seriously and make changes (if possible) to make everyone happy with their purchase. I hope some day to go injection molding which will give that smooth surface everyone wants. That's just a HUGE investment that I wont be able to pull off for quite a few years.

No tradesies on my center console cooler, lol!

That's what I'll have to try, I'm REALLY hesitant to put screws in the console though...not sure what I'm going to do about that. I'm not sure if the console walls have insulation in them or not. For the record, this is an OEM console, not NA market though.

I did not know yota offered a factory cooler center console. Is this common in certain countries or is this a VERY rare option? I can also ship you some extra pieces of adhesive if you just want to use a ton of adhesive a no screws. Just let me know what you would like to do. After looking at your pics I see you have almost 1/2" of lip from the back of the console to the actual hinge. If you leave a 1/2" of the hook you could then stick a strip of adhesive underneath that little strip of hook which would still allow it to hook onto the console even though it would not pass through the hinge. Just a thought. That adhesive is pretty darn strong so that may be enough to get the job done.

The center console cooler was standard on all JDM "VX LTD" trim models, so most of the HDJ81 imports are of this variety. It was also available in some other markets as well, but I'm not sure on the specifics. I've got some 3M double sided tape here, I might try trimming as little off the hook as possible for it to fit, add a bunch more tape, and see if that works.

sounds good. If you have any issues please contact me and we will figure something out. Unfortunately you are the guinea pig on the cooler center console since your the first (that I know of) to do this. Please pass along your successes and struggles so I can pass those on to folks who do the same thing to their cooler center console.

Thanks for the additional info! Now I definitely won't want to take any sand paper to the cup holders. You've done an amazing job at designing these cup holders- I absolutely love mine. I love the fact that they are 3D printed (and that you do the fabrication yourself).

Hey Ian, did you install your cooler later, or was it factory installed? Also, is that a CD holder on the side? I haven't seen one in person before- I'm curious how many  you an fit in it and how well it actually works.

Black or maybe a dark gray that has more black than blue in it. Regardless, my double rear rocks.

Is it possible to get a single front without the pen holder? I like the idea but don't need a pen/pencil holder.
BTW... I've found that it doubles as a good straw holder (I'm still addicted to my diet soda).

It was factory installed, cooler w/ ice maker. The bit on the side is a cupholder next to the driver's elbow (truck is RHD), it's double wide compared to most trucks had, I can't tell you why. My last HDJ81 had a single cupholder in that space. I believe it fit 18 cans inside...that should do me for a while, lol.

That's awesome! 18 cans??!? I might have to look at retrofitting one into my US fzj80 (first I need to finish up my mods/installations that I'm currently working on, though- this cold weather hasn't helped out much!)

I saw one in eBay recently.

Love my front double holder, just ordered the rear, cup holder awesomeness

Oh snap...it looks like these may fit the FJ Cruiser rear console too....could probably chop the hook part off since there is no lid. May have to get one of these beauties.
