Hydro assist, Yes or No?

I'm about to pull the trigger on a PSC hydro assist kit. What say you Cruiserheads with hydro assist? Do you like having hydro assist? How does it affect the feel of the steering? Does it feel sluggish or slow? Any do's or don'ts about the parts or install? Do you like the performance in the rocks. I suppose that's most important since my 40 is 90% off road only.

Yes, do it and enjoy. I'm gonna have to put a cooler inline for mine, but that's OK. As Woody put it," It's like a steering stabilizer on steroids." If you like effortless steering, do it.

I certainly want all to enjoy the joys of P.S., but let me give you another take on the subject. So many complaints of mangled steerting components with the higher pressure systems (i.e. 1500 lbs. and/or Ram Assist), that we deceided to back off on the high pressures units. We now offer Remanufactured Saginaw Boxes with Dual Stage Valving, all stainless steel internals, but standard 800-900 lbs. pressure. Obviously if you are opting for the big tire/big pressure P.S. stuff, play at your own risk.

I used Rockstomper's kit and love it. Power steering alone wasn't enough for my scrawny arms to move aired down 37s on slickrock. I added the ram assist and no longer suffered from sore, tired arms at the end of the day. Completely transparent on the highway, too.

Have any of you who have done this upgraded your steering pump above stock or found it necessary? I would think that since it's just an assist that the stock pump would be up to the task, but I have heard that it's not enough. Thanks!

i would do it again en a heartbeat. love it and cant imagine it without it, not sluggish and drives close to waht it did before.
