I knew you would appreciate the comedy. Does everything backasswards and most of the youtube commenters are singing his praises like he's MENSA.
I’d be surprised if his frankenyota even starts. The starter looked possibly original and it WAS RIGHT THERE. Also, did he use torque wrench on any of those bolts or just 1/4” ugga duggas?

“It’s finally time to change the valve cover gaskets” 😂 he could’ve been done with the job by now! Did he even change the spark plug tube seals while he was in there? Thank you for that, comedy gold

The dude took an engine apart and got it back together. He’s not the least bit worried of it not starting cause he knows he can figure it out if it doesn’t.

-talk smack all you want but give the dude credit for tackling a job like that with no fear.

the valve cover gaskets?

That wasn't even a bad fire. I've seen car fires where it got so hot it melted the aluminum cylinder heads. I'd bet money that motor will run with a wiring harness and hoses - the plastic bits and most of the hoses aren't even burnt.

Wonder if there was a shovel in his garage? Because there was SNOW on the ground outside.

That's why I keep my engine degreased and nothing leaks.

Just thought I'd leave this here...

Ill start by saying at least he didnt get hurt. Thankfully the truck caught fire keeping everyone on the road safer for a few months. Its unfortunate the fire crew didnt stop for coffee on the way there so the garage burnt down keeping everyone safe even longer.

Did mine last year at 250,000k miles and didn't have a single issue with stubborn bolts, but maybe I got lucky. I feel like if they were previously torqued correctly and it's not a complete rust bucket, it shouldn't give you a huge fuss. The fella in the video lives in a harsh winter environment and who knows where that engine came from and how long it may have sat.

Thanks for the love guys. Appreciate it. Yes I did the spark plug seals and all while I was there.

The reason I did not change the start is BECAUSE IT WORKED. This was already a expensive swap, and did not want to tack on another couple hundred bucks. Taking the intake back off later to swap the starter won't be a big deal. Also this 2UZ has nearly 500,000kms on it, those valve cover bolts where a bitch.

AND YES everything was torqued to spec. You can see it in the timelapse. Sorry I don't show every step in detail for you keyboard warriors.

I replaced the bottom injector seals, because they looked toast. The tops LOOKED fine, so once again to save money I opted not to, obviously I should have. There is a million what ifs here. AND VERY EASY to point out in hindsight.
