I'll jump on the manual trans bandwagon; heck i'd be happy with just the adapters to mate it to a H55 and the wiring harness. The rest I can figure out on my own.

I’ve got a 62 that is gonna need new heart in the next few years, but I would for sure want to keep the split t case and preferably a manual trans.

Did you ever think more on a kit? I imagine a lot of demand for 80 swaps.

Isn’t the r151 a pretty common to the USA transmission?

I have a 62 with the baggy ol 3F-E and accompanying slush box, and I would totally run with the stock 2UZ engine / transfer case / tranny. My buddy’s 1st gen Tundra seems like it has more than enough power when he’s tailgating in the fast lane going up mountain highway passes!

This is a swap I've been thinking about, I know a sbc would probably be easier but I've had 3 tundra's with the 4.7 and I like and know that engine well. And since so many of them rust out around here they can be found cheap, last year I bought a 2001 tunda ac with 85k original miles and a rust free body for $1000
